I think phone cases are getting crazy expensive

Been using Otterbox Defender since I started SmartPhones probably 10 years ago. Been $49 since day 1.

Update: just took delivery of a replacement for 4 y.o. case. Only $22.

I got my replacement in August after the rubber buttons broke and I got tired of using my fingernail to push the buttons.

The Mint box was cheaper and I got it on sale for twelve bucks,..

The OtterBox isn't waterproof so I checked if my phone was,..

So apparently my phone isn't submersible, but rain should be fine.


I didn't like the teal color, and it tasted the same as the black case, but I realized that I only needed the rubber part and I could reuse the old black plastic part that already has the anti-slip velcro hook tape attached to it.

It not only prevents my phone from slipping out of my pocket, it also picks up the lint while it's in there.

my $12 Apple OEM copies have worked through dozens of drops. The market is ripe with grifters.
