I fell asleep on my stomach with my head turned to the side.
My neck was sore for almost half a year.
Well, I did it again.
After my sore neck incident (30 years ago now) I couldn't sleep on stomach anymore, so I figured out a compromise by proping up a pillow under one side of my chest, to keep my neck straight enough to not get sore.
That worked great for the last three decades including the last 12 days since I fell over, until last night.
I must have bunched up the pillow right against the spot where I landed on the plastic tote.
It didn't hurt when I fell asleep, but when I woke up my chest was Sore As Hell.
I was almost healed. My finger scratch, and scrape on chest fine now, and my chest pain was almost gone.
Now my chest hurts more than it ever did.
I went for a 2½ hour ride after my Wipeout but I couldn't go for a ride today.
,.. it's always something stupid that's gunna get ya.
I was almost killed by a Stupid Duck last month !!!,..
One of these two Mallards,..
I took this picture the day before.
The next day I was approaching this same spot and a work truck was coming up behind me, so I pulled Way over to the right and into the soft gravel to let it pass.
I was beside the long grass with the truck right beside me, when one of the Mallards (that I couldn't see in the long grass) ran right out in front of me about 3 feet ahead.
I yelled "s*it" !!
The truck driver saw everything happen. He had his windows down and I could hear him react too.
Fortunately, the duck got the Hell outta the way, and I missed it by inches.
I'm pretty sure that I would have crashed if I hit the duck, and either went off the road, and into the canal or got run over by the truck.
It's the same place I've passed many times that has tame ducks, so I'm always looking for the ducks.
They were hiding in the grass this time.
This is that same place two years ago,..
I think that I may have to shoot those damn ducks regardless of the sign.
They're a road hazard.
I don't have a gun, but I've got a slingshot.
