I Am Buying An Electric Bike...

Update:
I've only ridden an electric bike around the parking lot of my LBS so I rented a Giant Explorer and took it on the local bike trail. I rode for 20 miles round trip. I tried the bike in off position first just to see what it would be like to get it home with a dead battery. Then I turned it on =D
The trail is totally flat having been built on an old railroad bed. The bike has three settings Eco, Normal, and Sport. It was pretty easy to maintain a speed of 14-15 mph in Eco, 16-17 mph in Normal, and 19 mph in Sport; all with about the same pedal cadence and in the highest gear. I got off the trail to try a hill that was about 3/4 of a mile up. I placed it in the normal setting and was very surprised to see my speed increasing as I up-shifted from 3 through 7th gears =D =D =D Going back down the hill I hit 28 mph and that is all I wanted due to a few curves and those pesky automobiles. The brakes are fantastic. My first time trying hydraulic disks. The battery was at 85% charge when I started and was at 67% when I finished. I have the biggest grin right now and it just makes me that much more committed to tackling my work commute with an electric bike.

I hope it was clear that I was making a very sharp contrast between the dealer I mentioned, about whom virtually any knowledgeable person would say exactly the same thing, and the dealer you mentioned, about whom they would most certainly not.

There are several reputable, honest, quality vendors whom I would recommend without hesitation.

There are other vendors whom I might recommend to my ex-wife's divorce attorney.

When I went to the website you linked, their products certainly appeared more professional, better engineered, with better design. Thanks for the heads up.

Update:
I pulled the trigger. I put a deposit down on a Giant Quick E +. I talked to my LBS about 30 min. drive away and they found me one. This model is hard to find in XL. The one they found for me is coming from California. They expect it to be here in about a week. I am very excited to say the least.

Well the bike shop called me and my bike came in. I've got 7 miles on her so far. Everything appears to be working right and I had a blast riding. I will do a more thorough write up, take some more pictures, and post over in the Brands section under Giant.
