How well does your emtb work without power?

Yesterday I was out on the trail riding and shut off the motor. Basically, I was on a long ride(well probably longer than the amount of charge I had) and while I new I could ride without power. I was surprised how well my Giant Reign e2 pedaled even climbing. I think it's something one should look at when buying a EMTB that can be over looked. So how does your EMTB do with the motor off?

Speaking of Super lights just think the full powered are going to get that light!

Back in 2018 a decent dual suspension full power emtb was between 21-22 kg , but we accepted weight gain for integration , the wattever wars, bigger suspension, bigger wheels.

Even specialized has been guilty of letting marketing overide logic - the levo sl moved from fox 34's to 36's , that sold better so they brought out the kenevo sl . Instead of aiming at 16 kg we accepted 20.

Confession time, I fitted fox 36 x 160's on mine, the truth is the 34's were more than good enough for 90% of the riding I do - in fact I put them on my sons bike and he's faster than me down black runs.

I turn my Tero off all the time, well on flat lands, hill climbs I need the assist:)
I leave mine on most of the time but find myself hitting 20 mph from time to time. Also I will be putting a 10 tooth gx cassette as soon as I get xd driver that fits the stock wheel. I run out of gear with the 11

nah it will still happen they do listen just sometimes there a little slow

Most of mine work fine w/o power, as they started as regular bikes, My hub or mid drive motors have minimal drag, so it's basically a weight penalty of 8-14 pounds.

I got one bike that has heavy steel 20" fat tire rims. Combined with heavy tubes/tires, those wheels do not want to accelerate. It's a miserable bike to pedal w/o power, and not very friendly in PAS 1 either.

I ride an ET.Cycles T1000 and I ride it most of the time with no power. I just turn it on when I get to hills and most times just on pass1 unless it's a real steep hill then I go higher. Never use the throttle.

The drag on that must be huge with no power as it would be even with a non-e with fatties?

Most fatties really benefit from power different animal when added!
