How to best connect thin yellow throttle wire to thick red controller wire?

I am installing a new universal throttle with key on a recently purchased used Dyu D1(Gyroor C6) 36 volt 350 watt . This is a learning project. It did not run when I bought it , seller said needed a battery. I have a battery that i can use that is 36 volts. How would I go about attaching the Throttle YELLOW wire to the THICK RED CONTROLLER wire as mine has a yellow XT60?Any help is so appreciated Thank You:)

Hi Harry S. thank you for your reply:) I am attaching the pics The DYU looks like the Jetson Bike.
Also Harry , can you have a look at this video by Vaueco
This is what I was concerned about ( if you don't want to all start at 9:30 into video and you will see what I mean and why I am questioning the connection)
I do not want to hack into the power wire if that is wrong:(
Thanks again Harry S.

Hi HarryS I have voltage out from controller (36 volt) to battery connection, and 4-5v from throttle wires. The rear wheel moves freely going clockwise and also going counterclockwise with battery disconnected,
I could not find any brake wires (black and white wires) to disconnect., there is a 3 wire(brown, white, yellow) connector and a few black and red wires which I didn't want to touch.

so I plugged the battery back in and turned the key on and immediately I see the voltmeter come on... only to turn off immediately. HARRY I had it connected to the battery positive.
No motor powering on , just the display on and off.
Do you know what may be causing this ? I appreciate any and all of your help:)

I would love to get this up and running Harry ! worse comes to worse Harry , how can I bypass the voltmeter and key
I just want to get it running. :(
Thanks Again

If your thick yellow wire (.157 bullet conn) is the hot to the voltmeter and the source for the keyswitch out (probably the blue), you can connect it to the red wire of the alarm power output, instead of the red feed to the controller. Much more elegant. The alarm power out red is always hot. On three controllers the alarm power output has been a red bodied connector with a red and black wire.
My voltmeter & keyswitch feed was green, but same connector.
The controllers I buy require a +dc to the "door switch" input to move. I've replaced the keyswitch (since the key broke and the throttle connector did not match with the new controller throttle input) with a toggle switch in a pill bottle I mounted under the seat. The controller uses more watthours idle with the door switch input turned on. So I turn it off when parked. Off also keeps vandals from doing burnouts of the tire with the bike cabled to a gas meter or cart rack.
Why the controller builders call the controller enable a "door switch" is a mystery to me. Certainly "ignition switch" is not appropriate, either, but that is what the function is called in cars.
You can buy .157" bullet connectors male & female from Dorman at an auto supply like Oreilly's. You use a crimp tool to install them on 16 or 14 ga wire. I prefer crimp tool from Klein or Ideal the the garbage tool sold by dorman or 1000 other vendors of sleaze. Dorman connectors (only the ones made in ******) are okay. The Dorman assortment of crimp connectors in the box are made in ***** and are trash.

WHat are you doing? Are you trying to replace a throttle on your bike or add one to a bike that never had one? Did the bike have a throttle originally? Are you connecting to that throttle plug or are you just grabbing a 3 pin plug like the one in the video? You gotta get on the same common ground as the outside world.

Is it the same bike as this guy's Jetson?

If it is, is this the diagram looking like what you have?

Hi Harry, I am replacing a damaged old half twist throttle with new universal throttle key ignition...that is all. controller, wiring, motor are stock. This is a DYU D1 (like Jetson but no PAS)Bike wasn't running when I bought it.
I just would like to know where the colored wires ( the thin yellow bulleted and blue bulleted wires go? (shown in pic 1)
Also this red/black wire in pic #3 is the only wire not connected to anything?
Thanks Harry

Please I appreciate everyone's replies😊

Hi Indiana Joe, thanks ever so much ... very informative reply .I am attaching a pic of the controller and a red/black wire that is the only wire not connected to anything and my throttle wiring. there are a couple of red/black set of wires. I need the power up, power lock wire.:)
Thanks

How did the bike turn on originally? Did it also use a five wire throttle like the one you bought, or was there a separate on/off switch? Let's see a pic of the old throttle and its wires.

HI Harry yes it had a key ignition and I believe the brown & white {last pic) wire connected to the old ignition tumbler( I could not turn on -no key and battery was dead . I bought it knowing it needed a new battery and throttle with key . Here is a pic ( of what was left after I took it off and the wires I disconnected from the throttle.

Six wires coming out of old throttle, This is DYU D1 throttle with six wires. Is there a six pin plug on your controller? This throttle shows an LCD display too..

Is the amazon throttle the same as the one that broke on the bike? It's got six wires just like the ones in your picture.

The old one powered itself up, powered up the controller and also sent a signal to the controller that enabled it to run. You're probably missing that last signal. You need to find the connectors for the old one,.
