Hitch mount rack for Load60?

I'm (wishfully) considering a Load 60 which I think would meet a mix of demands (e.g., transporting a grandson, building supplies, groceries, a cello (suspension!)), but I will be splitting time between Utah and Idaho (240 miles apart, so further than I'm likely to bike) and will want to transport the bike back and forth. Any suggestions for a hitch mount rack I could use on an Outback with capacity for this?

I’m a newby to electricbikereviews. After considering a lot of excellent advice available in this forum I have ordered a Load 60 vario. I’m really excited about this purchase and I think that my daughter is going to love riding in it.

The bike is due to arrive later this year which gives me some time to resolve a few things. I’m hoping that you or others might have some advice to share.

The main concern that I have right now is how to carry the bike in/on my car. Like you I do have this need from time to The only solution that I’ve come across is this DIY roof rack bike mount for the Load 60:

If the wheelbase is under 74” I think you should be able to use a Hitchrider rack? In the alternative Draftmaster also makes racks that allow you to carry the bike vertically rather than horizontally?

I think the hardest thing is that these things are sufficiently long that carrying them width wise will make them wider than your car, which makes it tricky to drive around with them.

I have a Load 75 showing up imminently and I’m only confident I’ll be able to carry it around because I have a full size pickup - and even then, I think I’ll only be able to carry it diagonally across the bed with the tailgate down!

P.S.--> My familiarity with these comes from the recumbent world, where folks with long wheelbase recumbent bikes have the same issue, and likewise for folks with tandems (I have two recumbent trikes and a tandem as well). If you spend time Googling around on it, look for long wheelbase recumbent racks and racks for tandem bikes, which are, I think, more common than cargo bikes in the U.S. at least (don't know about Australia!). Also, you can always have something custom made obviously - for example, this guy seems to make custom hitch racks here in California, and I bet you can find someone to fabricate something near you as well if need be.
