Trust me, you will be so much better off going with stealth. The stealth is much more solid, and a very good warranty. also their customer service instantly responds. The batteries are safely protected. The hpc batteries are protected in a bag!! Plus, you don't want to be going at those speeds without a reinforced frame. If you want something that blows both brands out of the water, look at the M1 spitzing. 120nm of torque, 45mph, 56pounds, 60-90miles. But please take my word that you will be far better off with stealth in the long run. It's a much safer bike. Also, the batteries will get very hot in the bag. the metal stealth battery holder will dissipate heat prolonging the number of cycles the batteries will take.
It's your decision. The bag will be an insulator, and you are going to totally cook your batteries. And, anyone can cut the bag off where it straps to the frame and get a lot of money for the batteries. You don't pay as much money because it is a standard frame. With a standard frame, they havet been reinforced in the important locations. Someone could get seriously injured if one of the welded areas gave way. The stealth is completely adjustable to your local laws, so any cop that checked you out couldnt get you in trouble. Also, it has pedals and if you are going a reasonable speed I'm sure many wouldn't have the "right" to pull you over. The videos may have killed the stealth, but know they were posted by hi power cycles. they could have upgraded their model, ect. Stealth will be a much better choice in the long run. If you want a powerful, reliable e bike look at the spitzing M1. It's a very good bike too. I just can't warn you enough about HPC. I've heard enough bad stories and false specs released from them. also, stealth has tons of vodeos posted on their bikes by CUSTOMERS!! all HPC has are videos posted by themselves.The big problem I have with Stealth is the form factor and the weight. It really looks a lot more like a motor bike than a bike and we have some pretty bored cops around here who like to hassle cyclists. I think I'd feel more comfortable on a more "normal" looking bike that wouldn't draw as much attention.
FWIW, the bag is reinforced with Kevlar so it's not just a bag. There are a couple of other advantages to the HPC over the Stealth. For one thing, it's much lighter. About half the weight, and my Teenagers will be needing to use it too so that's a consideration. The HPC is an outstanding performer too, it absolutely destroyed the Stealth bomber on Youtube. Not just in straight line races but in hill climbs as well. It's a hell of a nice bike and the price is pretty nice too. I'd have enough $$$ left over to build another e-bike with the money I saved.
Seems odd when you think about it since the frame is the only thing on either bike that's really different. The rest of the components are mostly the same stuff.

Also I don't think regular mountain bikers will like seeing you on their trails... just some things to think about.

Why does the HPC weigh half as much? The Revolution page states 80 pounds, which is 6 pounds more than SF. Are the SF and HPC Revolution most similar?
Actually, that picture is of their new bike the "Revolution" and it's got the same Motorcycle type frame as the Stealth offerings. This is a pic of the bike I'm building. It looks more like a regular Mtn. Bike. I don't plan to use it on public bike paths at all. I have another bike for those. Mostly as a high speed Urban Commuter with a little bit of off road. We have plenty of open space around that's okay to ride on.
Which bike, under 50 pounds, has the highest top-speed?No. The Stealth BOMBER and the Revolution are the most similar in power and specs but the Revolution is lighter and faster and a better hill climber. The bomber has a seriously HUGE frame. Unfortunately with all that beef you get a lot of weight. The "Tank" is so wide between your knees that you have to ride Splay Legged or you'll bang your knees.I found it to be somewhat uncomfortable to ride myself.
I much prefer a standard beefed up bike with the battery in a bag or in the form of a Bottle Battery. It's much narrower and doesn't add as much weight. That being said, there is indeed something for everyone. I like what I've chosen. It's a better alternative to the motorbike look and it's lighter, faster, and comes from a company 5 hours from here versus a company in Australia. As a small business owner myself, I prefer to support small businesses here in the USA. Different strokes for different folks.
I am very limited by roads. No resident rides a bike in my neighborhood. No bike lanes on a 10% grade hill. The speed limit is 35, but most cars go 40. I must go up a steep hill at least at 35mph in the RH lane. I run up the hill, so I imagine I can pedal hard.Under 50? Hmmm... That would be tough to do. Light and fast are diametrically opposed. The lightest really FAST bike (2000 watt, 45 mph) I could find at HPC was around 58 lbs. You can get a Mid Drive bike from them that'll do 35 mph which weighs about 48 lbs. That's pretty fast. Most of the faster "street legal" bikes top out at 28. How fast do you want to go?
