Hi there

I have been doing some research on the web for a foldable e-bike with the fat tire. I have found a few that seem to be interesting but as I am a green horn, I feel overwhelmed by the information flow. Plus dealing with a Chinese company can be confusing and disjointed.

I am working with several university students who are looking for a versatile, good value for money and something you could take up to your studio and take home with you on the train or bus.

What do you think of the attached bike?

I think that the bike on amazon below is the same bike but from the supplier.

I think that buying a Chinese bike from China will be a horror story if anything happens in shipping or under warranty. You have very little recourse with problems, and likely very poor customer support. What if you need a replacement part? It's going to take a while for that to arrive. It would be too risky for me, despite the low price.

You can chew on these too .

The Ancheer 20" on ebay for $600 shipped.

Also the Voltbike Mariner fpr $1289 plus $70 shipping,

These fat tire folders weigh over 50 pounds. Not light. A 20" folder with 36V battery has a top speed around 18 mph. If your students want more speed, then a 48V battery is needed, although I don't know if I would want to ride over 20 mph in traffic. You're too small. Not easily seen, and your speed will be misjudged by motorists.

I'd treat them like bikes that can make a 15 mile trip less of a chore, but it will still take an hour and you will use up over half your battery so there's no guarantee you won't do the return trip on the motor.
