Help in this sea of choices

Amerika Pl. 33, 2100 København Ø
has Stromer, Trek, HNF Nicolai and all of these have a model in their line-up which could suit you.
Try to test ride this s-ped with the Bosch performance line motor:

There are not that many options for S-Pedelecs in Europe:
  • Trek Allant+ 9.9s, 9s (new), 8s (@Alaskan, these do have the Speed motor)
  • Specialized Turbo Vado 6.0
  • Riese & Muller HS models
  • Nikolai (as pointed out by TS25)
  • Stromer (I personally do not like the idea of an exotic hub-drive Direct Drive motor but that's me)
  • Bulls Bikes E-Stream Evo 45 AM (an e-MTB)
  • There is a Cube S-Pedelec (can't remember the model name)
  • There is a Haibike S-Pedelec (can't remember the model name either)
  • What else?
Three of e-bikes mentioned here are of SUV-class while others are more like regular but speed e-bikes. Looks there will be a lot of experimenting for Asagura :)

Let me only suggest to @asagura to not only test ride many e-bikes but also ask the dealer to demonstrate actual smartphone connectivity to given e-bike (yes yes, I'm devil's advocate) :)

P.S. I totally agree: no significant hills in Denmark and not much of off-road. An e-MTB is actually not practical there. Even full suspension seems to be an overkill for CPH :) I found a single climb on my Copenhagen ride and could clear it on a traditional 3 hub-gear bike. Me, with my ill legs... :D

If you go to the Trek store, be sure to test ride this bike. I own one of them in the USA and it would be a fantastic commuter bike, very elegant, well built, fast and fun. Aside from one issue that presented right away and Trek solved for me very nicely, this has been a very solid and reliable bicycle with only minor periodic adjustments needed while travelling many, many miles.

You also have the option of ordering it with dual batteries for very extended range. Given your lack of budget, I think this top tier bike from Trek will meet your needs quite well. It has excellent alloy fenders which will be very nice to have in a rainy place like Denmark.

Lovin' those flowers!
And of course, the ebike too. :):p

The Rhodies (Rhododendrons, not roadies/road bike riders) around here grow ginormous. Here is another monster Rhody I shot last spring.

Just another thought...Trek Allant+7 - 2020 Dutch ebike of the year. Not as fast or expensive as the 9.9 but a very solid, reliable ebike set up from the factory for commuting and/or trail and gravel.

I just want to point out that choices of e-bikes in Denmark and United States are somewhat different 😊 It is not without the reason there is a class described as "Euro e-bikes" in these Forums. Although Rad Power Bikes are available in Europe, they don't quite belong to that notion, especially in the context of R&M e-bikes mentioned by the Original Poster.

I should add Denmark and the Netherlands are "cycling countries" with unbelievably good bike infrastructure and culture, and with relatively short distances to be covered, mostly on the flat.

Nyhavn, Copenhagen, Denmark. 4:43 p.m on August 25th 2020. I have to see a similar photo from America yet :)

Holy Mackerel. No, you do not see that in America. It's no Estonia either, that is for sure. :p

Excuse me?
It is marketing crap of Trek. The brand must have sponsored some little known magazine to get that printed. You have never worked in the marketing department?
Now, give me hard facts on that "Award".

Yes, I know you hate Trek. I’m sure Specialized has no marketing department.🙄
This years award...https://www.fietsawards.nl/

No, I don't hate Trek. I don't like Bosch :)
Trek do whatever Specialized have already done but they cannot overcome the limitation of the Bosch system (motor noise, poor connectivity).
Did you know that "Allant" was a French word meaning exactly the same as "Vado" in Latin? :)

Well, you determine “limitations” just as I will. You have a process engineer’s attitude (and I worked with many) so I understand your need for connectivity and control. Calling BS without a clue makes you look a bit pathetic and it was Trek (not Bosch) you called out. How valid you view the award to be is up to your research.
I don’t view the lack of connectivity as a limitation as I don’t have the driving need to map everything as some do. I’m just enjoying riding my bike and wanting to know my mileage, as much for maintenance as anything. My Apple watch is only there for my heath monitoring but it tells me a lot more. 😎

Here is the award 2020:

It was Allant+ 7 that won in the 25 km/h category but it was Gazelle Speed 380 that won the S-Pedelec category. Why not the Allant+ 7S that you ride? Ask Fiets Awards.

I just wanted to say that such Awards are as good as buying an ad in a magazine.
Stefan, your cynicism does not become you. Why make such effort to rain on other people's parade? Better to let others have their moment.

Agreed. I can point you to websites where people buy likes and 5 star reviews for x dollars per hundred. It doesn't change anyone's mind. The top tiers in any category are established by now, and people will believe what they want to believe.

Or listening to reviewers/marketers/stockholders writing on an ebike forum that demands payment for a review.🙄
Don‘t know what your deal is today.

Dallant: If you had just written: "I'm in love with my Allant+ and can recommend it to anyone" that would be just fine. Talking about any "award" is not OK. Any award granted in the large Germany, the European home of e-bikes? Or, in Denmark, a cycling country where the OP lives? Moreover: The OP can afford Trek Allant+ 9.9S so why he should look at the 7S?

Oh, I see. It’s the Stefan Awards or nothing.😂

Yes, this thread has gone significantly off the tracks.
Maybe it’s time to let it fade in the black hole of oblivion.
