HELP!! Derestricting the 2019/20 Yamaha Crosscore.

I purchased a Yamaha Crosscore and am waiting for the bike in my preferred size and color. In the meantime the bike shop let me take home their demo. I really enjoy it but after riding with some buddies I've become frustrated with the 20mph speed limit. I've looked at the Specialized Turbo Vado, which has a limit of 28mph, but its motor is not as powerful, neither in watts nor in torque, as the Yamaha motor and it's nearly 1K more in price. Also, most bike shops agree that the Yamaha motor is the one they see the least for repairs on e-bikes. So... I'm looking for a tuning component that will allow me to derestrict the motor. I've seen some conversation on a thread where one person said they successfully tuned their Yamaha Crosscore, however, the link they shared for the particular tuner used is now dead. Has anyone had success tuning their Crosscore, if so what did you use? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me say in advance, I deeply respect the perspectives and opinions of those who have no desire to derestrict their bikes, I simply do not share that opinion in regards to the bike I purchased. Thank you in advance to those who have suggestions that may help.

Yamaha PW-SE is 500 W peak power and 70 Nm. Specialized 1.3 is 550 W peak power and 90 Nm. Busted.

I have experience with de-restricting e-bikes with ebiketuning.com but they unfortunately don't sell to the United States. Check the www.ebiketuning.com though and ask them by e-mail. You can get the stuff via Australia, I think.

Let me be more specific the Turbo Vado I'm interested in is the Vado SL 4.0. It's max is 240Watts, Torque 35Nm, 6.9ah, compared to the Crosscore 500Watts, 70Nm, and 13.6 ah.

The SL is a very special e-bike, a lightweight one, targeted at healthy strong riders willing to make solid workouts. I was talking about Vado 5.0, which is 2K dollar more than your bike. Don't get me wrong! I congratulate you on your choice. Many happy miles!

I suppose that's fine but your comment was inferring that I was incorrect. Considering the specialized you were talking about is not the bike I was referring to in my post... the "Busted" comment was a bit off base. The price point of the SL is exactly why I have my eye on that bike. I appreciate your input though. Thank you.

Congrats on the Crosscore... you will love the Yamaha mid-drive.

I would recommend the BadA$$ Box for a simple external speed delimiter... easy to install and remove as needed.

Take a look on eBay for some vendors that will ship to the US... I have one that works on my PW-X and PW-SE. ;)

Apologize for my confusion. You wrote earlier about lower power and torque of the "Vado" and only later explained you meant the SL. (Vado and Vado SL are so different...) I'm glad that the SL met your expectations!

That's not the point, FlatSix. If you say "Vado" without adding "SL", you are implying 520-550 W and up to 90 Nm of torque for higher models of the Vado (non SL).

I did a lot of research on this very subject. Unfortunately, I didn’t come up with a working solution. Also, congratulations on the new bike!
