Help choosing: radcity 4 or ride1up 700 or?

Hi there- I'm was an avid biker who got too busy. Now I'm looking for a 3 day a week commuter. Round trip is a pretty flat 9 miles on a bike path. I like the look of a traditional road/hybrid bike, and will need to be carting the rig up 2 stories. Also, I'm 6'5, 220lbs. so a big/adjustable bike is a must.

I'm considering the radcity 4, but don't love the look/finish.

I like the ride1up 700, but it's probably more bike than I need.

In a bit of a departure, the story bikes road bike is almost exactly the style I want but I'm worried it may be underpowered, worry about a fixed battery and that I can't find a review anywhere.

Finally, the Kona dew-e looks good, bosch mid-drive, lots of sizes and a reputable brand. It's just $1500 more than I'd prefer to spend.

Any thoughts on these bikes? Any others I should consider?

The first thing I'd be concerned with is how heavy these bikes get. Carrying an 70lb ebike up a few steps is no cake walk let alone 2 stories for the average joe...

Only heard of Storybikes once before, last May a senior reported she wanted to return a bike that didn't fit, at first she said there was delay in their response and she was worried she was now outside their two week return window, but later in the thread she reported she had returned the bike, so they must have gotten in touch and accepted the return.

It appears you like a flat bar road ebike? A budget contender might be the Propella with the 7-speed option, it's a Class 1 and lightweight at around 38-39lb Here's Court's review https://electricbikereview.com/propella/3-0-7-speed/ and here's Micah Toll's review https://electrek.co/2020/01/30/propella-v3-2-electric-bicycle-review-e-bike/

I would definitely be looking at lighter Bikes, the radcity is going to be heavy

maybe The flx road bike, cannot remember the name, it has a throttle which may help you walk it up the stairs

would definitely consider throttles and Bikes with walk mode
And try to stay well under 50 pounds, dragging it up those steps is going to get old quick

Thanks for the input. I've looked at the propella. At the pre-order price I might be able to get over the blue wheels ;) my concern with that bike is the sizing- I'm 6'5 and 220 lbs. Does anybody have pointers on fitting a bike like that to a larger rider?

Ah, the Propella website says 5’-3” TO 6’-3”. Sorry, there’s only so much a longer stem and seat-tube can do if the frame reach is too short for comfort.

Try giving Lenny’s a call to ask if they have any bikes that fit tall riders, I know they carry Haibike and some of their models come in a tall 60 XL frame size https://www.crazylennysebikes.com/, good for riders up to 6’ 7” according to Ravi Kempaiah

You can never have more bike than you need being a avid rider and for sure ride what you like. The better the ride the more you ride!
