Help choosing our first ebike.

My wife and I are looking at getting a pair of ebikes. We have test road the giant explorer e + 4 and we really enjoyed them. We will be riding on a wide variety of terrain such as gravel and paved roads along with greenways and bike trails. We were looking to stay around the 2500 dollar mark. What would you all recommend in that price range or should we stick with the giants? Thank you all for your help.

That's a good ebike for your intended use, a Giant dealer will also be able to supply the Liv Amiti E+4 model designed for women with data-driven design changes in the length of cranks, width of handlebar, shorter frame reach, lower stand over height, wider saddle, etc. but using the same Yamaha motor and battery as the Explorer, you might want to see if it might fit your wife more comfortably. Otherwise great choice!

Good point that I forgot to mention. We had decided that she would be getting the Liv if we did go this route.

You might also like to test ride the Specialized Turbo Vado 3.0 which also offers both diamond frame and mid-step and a suspension fork for around your budget.

Giant has another line called Momentum that seemed about the same as the Liv ... 7 speed IGH and chain, battery in frame, available in step thru and diamond frames. My wife tested the step through and liked it.. We decided on the Specialized Como 3s similarly equiped with a lights, rack, and fenders it was the same price within $50 or so, and the Como has a good display and a derailler. As always, test ride both, that's what your LBS is there for. And pay attention to the service side of the shop while you're there.
