Help choosing first Ebike to be a delivery man

Hey, I would like to invest in an Ebike as a bicycle courier in Paris. I already did a ton of research and documentation but I just can't be satisfied of the results.

I have some idea of what I want, I understood that pedal assist was a lot smoother if you can handle the price of it.
I look for a really good autonomy since I plan of using it up to an entire day (you actually stop a lot when delivering food but you get the idea)
I am quite tall (1.90 meter) so I look for a bike adapted to my height ideally, that made me reconsidering some options I found, a lot of city bikes are small and all and maybe I won't be comfortable on it.

In short I am looking for :
-City only use
-Pedal assist
-Large battery
-Tall friendly
-3500/4000 euros max

Oh and I live in Paris, France, if maybe it's a needed information.
The trend being quite new (really trending in france, you even get a grant for buying one) I feel like there is a ton of marketing for it and I find it hard to get actual valuable informations.
Hope you guys can help me on this. Feel free to ask any information you need.

Get whatever closest bike shop that you feel good about has to offer and that fits you would be my suggestion. You will appreciate the service aspect if you are putting lots of time on the bike. It is best to delete all the bells and whistles and newest tech, especially if it is an internet only model.

I am kinda scared that sellers are not always honest, since they obviously sell you the product, but I guess there is some honest bike shop in Paris, would definitly try, but any suggestions are always welcome.

Thanks for all your answers guys, would check them out. And for the " Best Electric Bikes of 2020", not sure all are available in France, I tried to find the Ohm quest for example, maybe I am not looking on the good platforms, I'v sent them an email to be sure.

Court recommends the best bikes of 2020 based on all of his prior model year reviews... most are 2020. ;)
 
Moustache bikes are made in Thaon-les-Vosges - FRance, just south of Nancy There are many dealers in Paris that carry the brand.

They are very well made bicycle with good components and made in a wide variety of styles. If I lived in Paris I would visit the shops that carry Moustache bikes and find a dealer who seems trustworthy and honest.

You pay a premium at a LBS (local bike shop) but what you should get in return is someone who cares about keeping you happy and helping you to keep your bike in top running condition.

I heard of the brand too, If people outside of France heard of the brand and feel great about It, I would definitly trust them more, I get your advice seriously and will probably do as you suggest. Thanks for the reply.
 
When you say courier, what kind of packages are you taking about; do you need big cargo capacity? You mentioned food; so food delivery, and not parcels?

If the latter, I might suggest something like the Giant Dailytour series. One, because they use Yamaha drives, which are smooth and very reliable. Two, they use internally geared hubs, and the top model uses a Gates belt, again more reliable. Three, they are step-thru bikes for easier mounting and dismounting. Four, Giant is a big company. I do not know about their presence in France, but I would think dealer support should be good. The only thing lacking is a big battery, but the 500Wh models should get you through an entire day unless you run it at full power the entire time. Even then it should provide a healthy number of kilometers per charge, since Paris is mostly flat.

Given the difficulties all bike makers are having with the supply chain for parts and components these days, I think a Rad bike would likely end up leaving someone in Paris, who depends on their bike for a livelihood, stranded and waiting for parts, causing an unacceptable interruption in their income.

Purchasing a Moustache bike with dealers all over the city and the actual manufacturer in the same country is the best solution for someone who relies on their bike to make a living. Even though it will cost more money, the abundance of local service locations and parts availability are priceless under these circumstances. The next best option would be a bike from adjacent countries like Germany or the Netherlands that have a good network of dealers in Paris.

It is not just Rad or even just the bicycle industry. Here is a comment I left on the Riese & Muller facebook forum for people complaining about production and delivery delays.

The shelves are bare. Everyone is out of stock on everything, especially bikes and their components.

Global manufacturer's and material supplier's of just about every thing have adopted near universal trimming of inventory to what can be produced and shipped just in time to just keep up with demand.

The sudden, dramatic surge in demand for bikes and their components due to covid, the disruption in production and shipping schedules that has resulted from covid, the lags in material supplies to manufacturers due to covid have stalled and delayed everyone's production and delivery schedules.

And thus here we are, waiting for our bikes and the parts needed to fix them.

Howling and whining won't help. It is what it is. We just have to learn patience and practice restraint. Sorry
