Headlight turns on for just a second, then turns off again.

I have a Bulls Crossmover, and the other day my headlight just suddenly turned off while I was riding. When i cycle power on the bike it turns on the headlight for just a second, then it turns off again. The Speedometer reads 50.2 and it says error underneath it. The rest of the bike functions just fine.

Is this headlight the one that came with the bike, or is it something you installed?

sounds like a purion issue. so off to the shop. if they have to replace it and it will take awhile I have mine from my crossmover you can have. but I would check the light wire if you can. I replaced my light when I bought the bike with a lights & motion to get more light. if yo ucan disconenct the light wires and see if you still get the message. it could be the light too.

It's the OEM light I believe.

How difficult is it to check the light wire? I'm a total amateur when it comes to maintenance.

it would depend on if you could find a removable connection if you took the light apart. it could be the light is toast and causing some kind of voltage issue and t=is shutting it off. but usually you cant remove the wires as they are soldered. you would get a error code if you disconnect the light though. but that would tell you if it is wiring or the light. the light wires are connected to the motor I think.

Just follow the wire coming from the light to a connection and unplug it. If that does not fix the issue, it could also be the tail light. Plug the headlight back in, and follow the tail light wire forward to a connection and unplug that.

You're just checking the easy stuff first. You may still end up taking the bike in for pro help.
