Haibike hardseven 6 complete loss of power

Hi, I recently bought my first e bike , after a couple times out I decided to do the speed sensor hack to improve the bike performance . It was a great success and worked perfectly non my first two runs . Last time out the bike decided to go into what I would call limp mode , no faults indicated but the numbers on display are flashing , motor kicks in at start for a couple seconds then dies. My question is , could I have caused the damage by doing the speed sensor hack .

Pretty vague information supplied there. What speed sensor "hack"? There are different brands out there. Is it compatible with your particular speed sensor magnet arrangement? What happens if you undo the speed chip and go back to stock? Doing that would help narrow down where your problem lies, if it's in the bike drive system or the speed chip itself.

Also: when I did my PearTune on my Haibike Full FatSix Yamaha PW, I noted how tight the motor wires are under the frame motor mount & downtube. Quite easy to actually pinch one of your motor wires if one was not careful in setting the motor back in place.

This is my PW motor with the new PearTune Chip installed and the motor ready to go up into the motor bracket. As you can see, a very, very tight fit and it's real easy to pinch wires when putting the motor back up and running the motor mount bolts through. I kinda wonder your problem lies either with a pinched wire or wires or the chip itself is not compatible with the Yamaha drive system, in particular the magnet sensor....

Hi , thanks for the reply . I didn't fit a chip I repositioned the speed sensor and put the magnet on the crank arm , a hack I saw done on youtube, so didn't actually alter any wiring or anything . It worked perfectly apart from the speedo readings being inaccurate due to the magnet being in the crank arm instead of the wheel spoke .
I have put it back to original but still not working . The bike is only 2 weeks old .Is it likely to have caused the problem or could it be a fault that was going to happen anyway.

I think at this point, having only 2 weeks run time, a visit to the dealer for a warranty claim, is in order. Let us know what they find.

By tampering with the speed sensor, it is quite likely you have voided your warranty. Keep you fingers crossed that I am wrong. It is definitely a problem that will have to be resolved at the shop.

Is this a 2022 model year? The new model years are very sensitive to mods and do go into limp mode when the 3rd event is detected.

Yes its a 2022 model , and I know I could have voided the warranty . I was going to fit a new sensor myself see if that fixes the problem , if not go back to the shop and suffer the consequences.

The sensor itself has nothing to do with the motor in limp mode. Save that money and go to the dealer.

I have the same problem with my haibike hardseven 6 2021.
What happened when you went to your dealer?
Did you resolved the problem ?
