Growing impatient

Turns out that the bike was delivered today and no visible damage on the box.
Backstory: we ship our bikes legally (DG certified) and the DHL DG agent in Winnipeg was on holidays so they put the bike on hold till they found a DG officer to go over it. This would have been okay if they informed us or the customer of what was happening but they didn't. They kept changing online status from "bad paperwork" to "bad packaging". This was complete BS messaging and I've brought it up with their country VP. We do have a good say with them as we are their largest customer in the Prairies.

Shipping issues/like this are not at all uncommon. It can happen with any product, and any shipper. With ebikes, the battery itself causes even more complications for shippers and shipping companies, due to certifications that are required and documentation for hazmat materials.

Tom J is right though about venting here on forums, especially when it comes to shipping where it's next to impossible to have all the facts, even after its delivered. I've personally had shipping firms tell me their truck is right outside my door, when it wasn't, and trucks nowhere to be seen for days, when they said the item had 'in fact been delivered.'

Glad it finally got resolved here but unfortunately a lot of forums viewers, just glance at the subject line, think 'oh I'll avoid such and such firm', are rushed and therefore won't take time to read entire threads for context , when many times there are many speculative comments, and then good firms like Roshans get an undeserved black eye.

Exactly why 90% of the bitch pitches suck. There’s invariably some damage done to the seller and the entire story gets lots and twists and turns. Then someone olds along, scans a thread they found searching for info on. Ike they like. It sucks. Another great vendor has unfair review. I admit I fell for it regarding Juice. Only to find they have a heart and stake in the world of eBikes. The can’t imagine the crap they take. This is a difficult business model and these threads are seldom helpful. Who’s the real victim? Sorry typed on iPhone without spell check or review

It was in fact delivered!
DHL hell right up to the end.

There was no estimated delivery date this morning, so I went to work. No sooner did I walk in the door when I get a "Out for Delivery" notice. So I did some things I needed to do at work, raced home and it showed up half hour later. Did a quick inspection and all was good, signed and ran back to work.

Got home tonight and uncrated. Not a scratched, anywhere, took maybe a half hour to put together. Put about 5 miles on it around the neighborhood.

Here is a copy and past quote from DHL
"I hope this message finds you well. I am happy to inform you that your shipment is currently out for delivery today. The delay was caused due to the Dangerous Goods specialist being out of office and assistance was required from a different agent. I apologize for this inconvenience."

Seriously DHL, you got one person to do this job and if he/she is gone the whole company can't ship anything for almost a week! That's laughable.

So I'm gonna let the dust settle on this before and gets some more miles on the bike.

The only thing left is to get a case of beer to Roshan and Rick. I bet them a case of beer it would get declared lost!
I lose! I'm not going to ship it DHL!

My wife and I have named it the Hemorrhoid!
