Just joined because I have an Ebike and need some tech advice.
I have been building my bike for two years.
There are several influences for what I was after in my bike build.
I wanted no hassle with licences and insurance, to learn about battery technology and just to experiment.
I am totally into building things so when I wanted to build an early bicycle/ motor cycle I looked at the 80cc bike conversions. I soon found out that in my province, as soon as you put a combustion motor on a bicycle it becomes a motor bike and needs to be insured, you must possess a license. I have a cbr600 Honda motorcycle but I stopped ridding it because of the above mentioned hassles.
So I started to look into ebike conversions.
Ok so here is my bike. It is a work in progress.
No heavy modifications.
Just a total mail order part bike. Gettingparts in the mail reminds me of the devices that the coyote would get in the post from the acme company. Anyway hope this day finds one and all safe.

Oh I went for the madden voyage and I was returning home I heard a pop or a snap come from the controller and then the bike went dead.
Is the controller junk? And what should I replace it with.
1000watt 48volt system.
22amp controller
13 bank battery with 4 Cell 2000 milliamperes 18650 batteries.
The battery is charged and the voltage reads 52 volts.
The leads or power wires are all intact.
I think I need a new controller

Here is the controller info.
I removed the cover and there areno burnt wires or distorted capacitors. Every thing looks fine
