FNG needing advise

Hi Folks,

I am really interested in getting a emtb. I can only spend about $3500-4000max. I have a friend who has recently run into some medical problems and is willing to sell me his practically new (~50 miles) Xduro AllMtn 6.0 (2019) for $4000.

I will be using is mostly on hiking trails, bike trails and logging roads. Would be nice to be able to pull my kids around occasionally with our Thule trailer, but not a big deal if its not possible. I also frequently ride around the streets but not a commuter or anything. I am located a mile high in the Western Montana Mountains.

I currently ride a Gary Fisher Marlin and really like it but can't do some of the steep mountain trails. I usually have to walk it up and then have fun on the downhill part!

I'm 5'7, short legs and 210lbs.

Is there something better suited for my needs than the AllMtn 6.0 and less thank $4k? I'm overwhelmed with all the different ebikes.

I'm a huge Haibike fan, I've not experienced anything better. I ride a 2016 XDURO Full Seven S RX, and a 2016 XDURO Trekking S RX. Both speed pedelecs.

I haven’t ridden them but our neighbors up the street have built several ebikes and recently brought his/hers xduros. He’s one of those who researches the heck out of everything, so I see that as a pretty good endorsement for them.
