Hey Mike,

We are looking at late fall at the earliest currently. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I did the Planet Bike Big Buck Fat Front Fender, eBay, $30, a few years ago and been happy with that. My rear Topeak rack+bag acts like a rear fender. The Big Buck fender might work until the Rad fenders are ready.

We don't get a lot of rain in the southwest. Mostly for occasional puddles, mud holes, or dog/horse crap on the trail. The fat tires kick up a ton of water in the rain. It like a garden hose set to spray coming off the fat tires hitting your feet. I'm actually thinking about some type of shoe rain covers I can slip on when it is really wet outside.

The is a hole facing downwards at the bottom of the fork steer tube. There is a plastic knob on the fender you insert into the bottom of the steer tube and use an allen wrench to tighten. The fender does become loose over time and I usually have to re-tighten about once a month or so (about every 250 miles).

I like the fender because it doesn't get in the way of my platform rack that secures my bikes on top of the tires.

I have the 2016 Radrover and I haven't looked at the 18 rover updated forks to see if they have the same open end at the bottom og the steer tube?

Those look a lot like the fenders Rad sold around 2016 before the full fenders were available. The only difference is the rear fender from your link secures the fender to the crossbar on the frame. The old rad fenders secured to the seatpost and my wife had her seat too low to use. I tried the Rad seatpost rear fender; but, it would rattle against the rear rack constantly because of its floating design. Looks like this updated design wouldn't rattle with a rear rack.

I called and they said they had 4 sets in stock but they had forgotten to change the "out of stock" notice on the website. I ordered a set and the website has been corrected. Grab a set now while they have them available.

Will those provide the same amount of protection as the full-coverage ones that Rad has displayed but is out of?

They don’t look near as nice as the fenders on the Rad site. I did get a communication regarding stock from Rad and they had indicated it would be months until they had stock in. They have been out of stock for about 6 months. Can’t understand why they take so darn long.

How long ago did they tell you that? When I asked a couple weeks ago, I was told "end of summer." But I thought that was odd because most people consider summer to be pretty much over by September (although technically it appears Saturday is when summer officially ends).

My understanding is that Rad is having to redesign the fenders (for mini and rover) because they moved to off-shore production last year, the fenders received were defective as they tend to melt and deform in the sun (this was not discovered until the warmer weather of spring I guess). Now I see that Rad has removed the ETA from their website... however the staff in the Seattle store say they are due in soon??...I'm still waiting...
