There are Class 1 road bikes out there with big batteries. Yamaha makes one.Believe it or not, my cycling club, despite my concrete arguments against it, has decided to ban class 3 pedelecs (Trek Domane +) because they go 28 mph, not 20.

Cannondale Synapse Neo.Thank you , Mike. Can you, or any other reader, share what brands carry class 1 road bikes with 500wh batteries?

Hey folks,
Just got an update directly from Fazua.
Expect to see their drives in bikes hitting the US shores in late autumn 2019.
And the Cannondale Quick Neo is 40 lbs.
I test rode the Cannondale Synapse Neo SE (their all road version) and loved it so I bought one. It uses the less aggressive Bosch Active Line Plus motor coupled with a Bisch Powertube 500wh battery. This past Saturday I did a 35 mile ride with 2, 444 feet of climb and finished with approximately 60 miles of battery left! I was thrilled. Check them out!
Are there any more manufacturers coming out with lightweight e-bikes? Is Bianchi going to expand their line from one bike to several others? I've heard rumors that Specialized is coming out with one, maybe by the end of the year, but it is just a rumor. Anyone else see anything at demo events, shows or marketing to bike shops? Still thinking of getting an Orbea, but want to see what else will be out there.
I just spoke with Glory Cycles in Greenville, SC USA, they indicated that the Gain water bottle external battery is ready to be released at a list price of $1,000 - No thanks to that!
Glory Cycles in Greenville, SC USA did say they will be discounting them but did not say by how much.I'll probably get one, hopefully with a discount.
I'll probably get one, hopefully with a discount. Since I saved ~$800 by getting Shimano 105 vs. Ultegra, that will pay for most of the battery.
130 miles I'd great! What kind of terrain, mode you were in and your weight if you dont mind?Amen. Fortunately, I don't need one? I'm getting approximately 130 Miles on a single charge.

OK, last charge over 4 rides. 3 moderately rolling, one ride of 25 miles mostly flat, total distance 134 miles. However all rides where done with a strong east wind blowing. All rides done in eco (have not yet used the two other modes) I'm 66 years young 11 stone 2 pounds max HR of 148bpm. Have recovered from heart attack and kidney transplant (have also lost a great deal of core strength that isn't ever coming back) Mainly nowadays I ride on muscle memory and experience. I have in my racing days done times under 55 mins for 25 miles (blue ribbon event here in UK) I'm riding Obrea Gain M20i with Cosmic Carbon Wheels shod with Hutchison Fusion 25mm tyres. I can average 17/18 mph under my own effort, but climbing brings me to a stop. Average speed for all rides is around 14.8mph, so you can see the motor is drawing power a decent amount of time. Must say for me I find the Gain ideal. Under my snooker table I have laying a £12,000 Storck that is under UCI regulations for racing weight. Maybe because of the extra weight? I don't know? But I find the Gain even more comfortable. The Storck is supposed to be the last word in Carbon frame building. I love the Gain so much, ordering the D version for winter riding with full mudguards fitted. Any more info required? Just shout.
No problem. Didn't think you were. I'm sure there are qualities where one would prefer one over the other, depending upon their needs. I'm waiting for the battery too so I can ride a century with it without running out of power. Mostly I'm riding in L1 mode with limited use of L2, so running out of juice isn't a problem with most of the riding I'm doing.
Have you considered other bikes with 500 Wh batteries?
I have a Trek Domane+ which I love but did notice today that my dealer has the new Cube Agree with the Fazua motor on the floor. It's the top of the line model for 10K but looked very nice. I for one typically ride my Domane+ at 30-60% assist (and turned off on the flats) but would not give up the ability to move at 28 mph through city streets on my way home after a long climb up the mountain--it's too much fun!
