Have BBSO2 bike on the way. Would like a little more torque. Not so concerned about top speed. I have read that replacing the stock chain ring with a 34T will do this. Will give me a good bike for riding forest trails and some easy single track. If I want to ride to town or some easy paved trails, can I change the tire size in the display to 16"and will that give me back more top end? Thanks

You have no idea what you're thinking. BBS-02 at 48V, 750W is a beast of a machine. I was doing wheelies just with gentle push on throttle. If you need MORE torque than that, you should get a ATV
or Lightning rods big blockwhich is in a league of its own.
Changing the tire size won't do anything. The speed is determined by a magnet sensor that is fixed to the spokes.

Changing wheel size should do the trick (if you want to ramp up max speed).
The speed sensor measures the RPM... multiplied by factor wheel size!
(Don't ask me for the exact equation pls)
But why bother? There are enough settings (3-9) available and 25 km/h is plenty fast to me....
What are you upgrading from? 250 or 350W?

I think before you "worry" about speed or torque get the bike and ride it. If the bike comes with the C965 display and no changes were made to the program by your seller, you'll be able to set the tire size and speed in KPH up to 99/KPH (no kidding).
I've provided a link to the C965 manual for you. I think the stock chain ring they provide coupled with a range of gears on the rear cassette will give you ample choice for speed and torque.

I remember seeing a couple of opinions that the stock gears were a little too tall. Then they are definitely too tall for a fat bike. Heavier bike, tires with more rolling resistance, tire with the profile of a 29er. Lower gearing would make it more efficient as well. I am thinking a 36 or 38 may be a better choice than the 34. But I will definitely be riding it and checking out the different PAS levels and WOT before I order any gears
