Faulty Bosch Performance Line CX 2019 battery

Hi all!

Bought myself a Scott Sub Sport eride 2019 just a month ago, and now, after todays ride, I try to charge the battery just to find the indicators just flashing (not in the ordinary recharging way) and when plugging it back into the bike the Purion display wont start.

It leads me to think of a battery failure and I'm going to my dealer to trouble shoot, however I just wanted to see if anyone here recalls a similar problem and if anyone know a "quick fix".

no but bosch is really good about replacing them.

This may or may not resolve the issue. Try resetting the battery


To reset the battery management system, do the following:

1. Remove the battery from the battery mount
2. Press and hold the On/Off button on the battery for 10 seconds
3. The battery management system should now be reset. Re-install the battery and turn on the bike.

Silly question but I can't find the on/off button on my battery?

Near the bottom of the battery on the left side are five green indicator lights. The button is a raised circular button about 8mm in diameter to the immediate left of the five lights.

Thank you again, however my battery does not look like the one in the picture, should all Bosch batteries look the same or indeed have an on/off button?

They don't all look the same. You have a power tube design, but I had to look up your bike. You can see the test button on the power tube around the edge from the LEDs

I tried to hold the on/off and the battery flashes with two diodes just like it looks when it charges. And when I plug in the charger the two diodes still flash, it doesn't seem to charge in the correct way even after resetting the battery.

ok you have a integrated battery so look on the end like in this picture

ok then take it into a bike dealer who services Bosch and they should be able to check it.

Yeah, going tomorrow, pretty annoying considering how new this bike is...

Try to avoid getting annoyed at this point. Any new bit of kit will have a shakedown period where there will some "bugs" to work out especially a device as complicated as an ebike. So long as your shop deals with it promptly and does not give you the runaround, there is no reason to be miffed. Best to keep that in reserve for unconscionable delays, prevarications or ineptitude.
