Hi I got a evo cross 2015 bought in Sweden (europe). The bike got a 350w sub motor that is limited to 250w.

Will my bike go faster if i buy a new us wheel/motor 350w ? Or do I have to change something more ?

Best regards

Alexander

he had success with his 2015 Evo Cross by just replacing the rear wheel with a US spec one.

Even though Electric Cyclery has them listed on their website you will find it hard to source a US spec wheel now as the dealers are reluctant to sell them to OS customers.

It will also probably cost US$750+ to have one delivered if you can actually find an obliging dealer.

I'm not sure what the secondhand market is like in Sweden but an alternative would be to upgrade to a 2017+ Evo Cross. You get a more efficient 48v system and a higher 500wh battery capacity. The other advantage is that the EN15194 eBikes can be unrestricted through a simple software setting. A friendly dealer can do this for you or if you are adventurous you can follow the instructions of Nasrudin2468 who successfully reverse engineered the config and provides detailed instructions on how to build the necessary cable and run the software he wrote to patch the config.

You can follow his steps here

Note: this method only works with 2017+ Evo's with the newer M179 motors.

Q-what is a EN 15194 e bike ? And Do you know if this software reconfiguration can be done for throttle delimit ? I have the 2018 BH EasyMotuon Nitro City, throttle is limited to 12mph. Has a Bafang 500watts motor, not sure the model

Yes it was from the usa. And it was pre owned, I don’t remember exactly. Around 300 dollar including shipping. The wheel wasn’t much used only 500 km. I rode it for 2000 km and swapped back to my eu wheel. Battery drains quicker with us wheel

They have the 2017/2018 Evo’s on sale in Us. They come with 605wh battery. But only do 22-23mph.
Software limitations.
