There's going to be a ton of announcements of new products coming out of Eurobike this week, so I figured I'd create a thread for people to share any updates they've found, whether that be new or updated ebike models, accessories, or rumors.

I've been writing up quick posts on Overvolted to summarize a few cool Eurobike announcements. Here's what I've written up so far:

Here's another classy touring/commuter pedal assist bike by Tout Terrain, the Panamericana Xplore. A long time builder of bikes designed to handle the rigours of ultra long distance touring, Tout Terrain introduced this full suspension electric bike with a Gates Carbon drive for a super comfortable ride. Take a close look at the unique rear suspension just beneath the rear rack which can ease the strain of heavy rear loads on bumpy roads. I'm not a fan of the off level rear rack; however, it may be an accommodation for the suspension. Nice looking bike with quality components wrapped around a Pinion mid drive motor.

Has Thomas ebikes been spotted ? Production should be begin soon ! That should be smooth and quiet with electronic shifting, and hub drive. no gear grinding would be great. 2017's are looking pretty impressive . Thanks for pics.

Nice looking bike with quality components wrapped around a Pinion mid drive motor.

this is not a mid drive, but just an internal gear box. Pinion had plans to combine their box with the motor, but it was canceled a couple of years ago, and they now promote that motor should be located in rear hub, to prevent additional stress on drivetrain.

The perfect place to have the battery swimming in mud and water. Big fail with that design.

At least Stromer haven't done anything radical, and still look to be producing lovely well designed bike.

Beautiful bike. Early in the summer when I was shopping for my new regular bike, I ogled these Tout Terrain touring/trekking bikes. Just are not easy to come by in the USA. I'd really like to know more about the design, motor etc. in case we see them here in greater numbers at some point.

Bosch has a semi integrated battery now, as shown by the Moustache e-MTBs

Hope to see more on the Moustache ebikes now that they seem to be coming to the US. Also some really attractive bikes.

No, but I hope that there will be news about batteries, both there and Las Vegas.

Irene, I think most of the battery info at Interbike & Eurobike is coming directly from the bike manufacturers right now and specific to there models. Sometimes they will have little sneak peaks of products still in development where we can get hints about where the technology is headed. What I really want to see is where the battery industry is going overall and in particular for our light electric vehicles. I'm very interested in this topic too, so if we don't see much from actual battery manufacturers there, I'll be digging from other sources.

If you look at the rear fender it has the same angle as the rack, maybe with weight on the bike it becomes "flatter".

Next to the Stromer display at Eurobike was mid drive motor manufacturer Brose, who are focusing on their E-Bike Design Study, Visionbike. Bike-EU.com was in Berlin earlier this month speaking with Brose's team about the new study. "We wish to show what kind of possibilities the further use of electric motors in the bicycle can offer,” explains Christoph Bantle, General Manager Brose Antriebstechnik. The mechatronics specialist wants to use the design study to encourage bicycle manufacturers to jointly develop new safety and comfort functions.

Beyond just the advancements of electric motor design for bikes, they're also looking at super adjustable handlebars for more rider comfort and easier storage. Also, they've designed an easier to adjust saddle with electric controls that can also function as anti theft protection! For ebikes shared by several riders or ridden in different conditions, they've designed an innovative way to store your data for handlebar & seat settings with easy recall that creates a consistent and comfortable ride whether in the city or on the trail. Brose is also looking at what 3-D printing can do to improve component design and production and reduce weight, one example being the chain stays of the bike frame. Pretty far reaching goals; however, bringing together a lot of design under one roof to improve the electric bike.

I'm more and more surprised at the new MTB's being introduced with mid drives and no additional chain tension er versus a hardtail (no rear suspension) bike. Haibike and others have an additional jockey wheel guide that takes up the extra slack created when the suspension is compressed and the rear wheel moves up closer to the seat. Seems much much more likely to throw chains without one and "seems" like it ought to be a normal feature on rear suspension bikes.

As far as I know that additional jockey is added only on bikes using Bosch middrive, due to ultra small size of the cog used on Bosch drive. Even haibike doesn't put that jockey on bikes with Yamaha motors.
