A couple of questions;
  • Has anyone changed from the SC Core Prime Men to the ST Core Evo Men, and did you notice any improvement
  • Has anyone changed from another saddle to the ST Core Evo Men, and did you notice any improvement
Presently, I’m using the SC Core Prime and looking at the ST Core Evo.

I have been using the ST Core Prime saddles on different bikes for some time. The SC Core Prime is the upright (wider) version of the ST Core Prime.

The ST Core Evo changes the ST Core Prime to a center-channel shape closer to what you are already getting on the SC Core Prime. That and the ribbed surface.

They are very similar saddles.

If your thighs are rubbing the SC saddle as you pedal, then an ST saddle shape would be a little less likely to do that.

I am actually in the process of selling off two S/M ST Core Prime saddles and one S/M SMC Core as it turns out I need a larger size.

Diggy,
Do not think buying yet another saddle will make your rides soft as long as you are riding in the upright position with the most of the body weight resting on your butt. Probably you cannot change the nature of your e-bike though.

I have gone through the ST Core Prime Men as one of many saddles on my "quest for a rainbow saddle stuffed with a cloud" and of course it felt hard because most of my body weight rested on my butt.

I wish you all the best on your quest but as your great author Jerome K. Jerome once wrote: "It is better to get used to something hard" and he actually meant bicycle saddles back in early 1900s!

So far, I’m finding that the Kinekt XR with the SC Core Prime Men M/L to be a good match. Don’t feel my thighs rubbing against the saddle, so that’s good.

Did a very good review of the Ergon website and didn’t realise that they did so much. So was following up on the ST Core Evo Men as it looked interesting.

One thing I did do was download their very detailed installation instructions for the SC Core Prime and followed that. The only thing I needed to change was the saddle height, which I did do and I felt that it gave me a bit more power.

Today, I also downloaded their very detailed installation instructions for their grips. Both Mrs DG and myself use these. GP2 and GP5 respectively and find these to be very comfortable, but will check these out to make sure that they’re set up correctly.

One other thing of theirs which I noticed was their pedals, which look interesting. May investigate these further at some stage.
