Encouraging??

I'm now riding or walking outside always with a mask and avoiding the popular trails and bikepaths completely. Getting some strange looks and comments from mostly unprotected older people, which is pretty discouraging but lots of thumbs up as well. If the virus only affected the careless ones that would be bad enough, but they are keeping the disease in circulation and endangering healthcare people and everyone else in the population with their ignorance.
My advice to those who think it's all overblown and a liberal/communist/socialist/snowflake media plot, please reach in your nightstand and grab your revolver. You can play Russian Roulette alone till your heart's content. Repeat as often as you like in the privacy of your own home... know that you are going to 'own the libs' by doing this, pass the word.

I have not been riding with a mask, I ride on the roads and hardly if ever encounter another rider or stop or speak to another person
I do wear a mask and gloves when out and have to mix with other people
70 plus years old , am I missing something? is this virus more airborne than I thought it was ?

The virus can stay airborne for 30 mins from a sneeze and is viable for hours according to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The masks are more intended for keeping the 'mist' from your respiratory system from infecting others and limited in their ability to protect you from someone else's sneeze. I am in my mid 60's with leukemia and kidney cancer so probably a bit more cautious than many. I can do everything right and still die from a careless person not taking necessary precautions.

I'm probably more paranoid than most of you, and started wearing a mask when I was in a store (the only times I'm really around people) about two weeks ago.

It is very cool that the local bike shop (which is still open) encourages you to wash your hands as soon as you come into their store. And the local grocery store has nitrile gloves for you to wear (and they encourage you to wear them!) when you shop there.

Even when the stay-at-home orders are lifted, I will probably make myself look silly and keep wearing a mask when I'm indoors around others and outdoors in a crowded situation.

Nope. We’ve been on board after the politicalization became obvious two weeks ago. Crazy.

i had what my Dr assumed was Covid-19 although he didnt even test me he just quarantined me instantly, i got hit early march and i think i was infected in LIC NY because the building i was working in was closed due to the virus on the very same day my symptoms started, it took 26 days before i felt like myself and i still have remnants of that crap in my lungs, days 5,6,7 were the worst, my fever got so bad i was afraid to fall asleep for fear of waking up dead! day 6 i literally stood and paced the entire night. after around 7 days the fever calmed down but it moved into my lungs and that is also a drag, like having lungs full of Elmer's glue and it does not go willingly lol, to make every thing worse i passed it on to my 85 yo mother who is in my care, she suffers from sever dementia and several other ailments but so far so good she has battled this like a trooper, she is about a week behind me but doing well, i think her pneumonia vaccine may have helped her,who knows?

Sorry you had to go through that.
It annoys me that the President is putting the squeeze on India to export hydrochloroquine, which nobody but him has far as I know said is effective against covid19. I don't watch Fox news, maybe that is where he got the idea. Whereas the drug that China said cuts duration from 11 days to 6, http://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/news/20200317_48/ favipiravir, nobody is doing any trials or has any available according to my bing search. According to bing search engine there was a trial in 2010, it was safe except for pregnant women, 2014, was not effective against regular flu.

I would have welcomed anything, I was expecting 14 days but it went on and on, very stubborn virus,on the flip side I really believe we are over the worst of it,by 04/20 i think we will at least see light at the tunnels end.

Our official infected count increased by 2 yesterday. It is up to 12 this morning. The first case appeared in the North Okanogan valley. That's just south of Canada.

I think traffic is increasing here. My backyard borders one of the busier county roads and it seemed busy with noisy diesel pickups and little fart cars yesterday. One local posted on facebook that he was surprised people were still "falling" for it.

I have not been to the grocery for a week, and I think I can easily make it another week. I bought sprouting seeds before this began and have been using those on sandwiches. Still have carrots and home made applesauce along with other things. The frozen Emergency Pizza still waits.
