EBR on the fritz: Very slow responses, glitchy posting, no search

Fresh water fish don't need no pixels cuz they be bland. 😂
Kind of depends. This Jack Dempsey is a freshwater fish native to Mexico and Central America.

My one time fresh water aquarium. . .

Yeah, I had angel fish and I used to kill off neons by the dozen. 😂

I just needed an angle to work the joke.

I always used to wish I could afford salt water fish. They really are stunning to watch.
I used to hang out and spend all my money at the pet store when I was 16.

Then I smoked my first Vado and found a new hobby. 😂

I had zebra 🦓 striped algae eaters that were kinda cool.

I remember buying a piranha, but I could only afford the ten dollar 2 inch baby. The big one was fiddy bucks.

I was too cheap to buy feeder fish, so I scooped a bunch of minnows from a local pond with a dip net to feed it (even though you're just supposed to feed babies flaked food)

It never ate a full minnow, but ate all the fins off.

Two weeks later it was floating tits sideways on the surface.
I desperately tried to revive it by grabbing its bottom lip and working the gills to get it to breathe.
It didn't work 😔 and I flushed another fish.

I'd spend 40-50 dollars on a couple dozen fish and ¾'s of them were dead within a week. 😂
I didn't no nuthin about PH and tap water at the time.

You had to buy at least a dozen neons because they school and swim in a flock. 😂

I remember breading guppies and you had to put the babies in a little floating separator so mom wouldn't eat them. 😂

We as a family had a goldfish in a standard fishbowl that just wouldn't die, and lived for more than 8 years.
It kept jumping out of its bowl and we'd have to scoop it up and put it back in its bowl.

One morning I woke up and went to make my Carnation Instant Breakfast, (your standard breakfast at the time) and found the goldfish stuck to the linoleum floor completely dried out, but still gasping for air. (Carp can breathe by forcing air through their gills)

So I grabbed an egg flipper and scraped it off the floor and put it back in the bowl.

All the dried up parts of the fish turned white and just dissolved and washed away including the tail fin and side fin that was facing up, but the single side fin that was against the floor survived so it had a single fin left.

The damn thing just kept going!!
It somehow managed to swim around doing barrel rolls to get to the surface to feed.

Then the entire side of the fish and two other fins grew back !!

We couldn't believe it !!

The fish was as good as new. Even better !! 😂

Apparently you can freeze a Koi fish solid and it will revive in the spring?

I know that at least the surface of a Koi pond can freeze over in winter and the fish will be fine.

Gahd in a previous life, I had an angel tank (125 gal show tank) and me and my girlfriend bred them for extra money. Which was not exactly a big moneymaker. Later we did cichlids and it was like Friday Night Fights in that tank every day. Had a mated pair of clown knives that mixed it up with anything that made the mistake of getting too close. And after them... a tiretrack eel named Bruno who went thru feeder goldfish like nobody's business. He got to about 18 inches and had to be kept alone in the tank... before he bashed off the tank lid and I found him on the floor a few hours too late.

Replaced Bruno with Godzilla, another tiretrack, who got to a full two feet. By that time I was still a university student but lived in a fraternity house, and people used to pile into the room at feeding time with the lights off and watch the horror show. My cockatiel, Ivan (The Terrible... he was kind of an a$$hole hence the name) would sit quietly up on a hanging lamp and people would not know he was there. He'd pick a sorority girl who was concentrating on the eel looming in the darkness, and dive bomb her. Swoop down and graze her hair with his feet as he went by and up to the bookcase in the opposite corner... she'd hear the flapping wings and feel something touch her in the dark and freaking scream bloody murder. That bird was awesome. He pulled that stunt over and over so it wasn't an accident.

I also still use the free win10 moviemaker video editor, its superb.
I recommend free video software by name VSDC Free Video Editor. Once you grab the idea of objects, it is an easy to use and improbable video software. In 2013, I was looking for a video software that was not only free but also allowed several independent video streams to be presented together. I still use VSDC and the program grew up through the dozen years since its creation.

This video uses files from Poland and South California :) No other video software at that time allowed multiple sources in a single video despite the price! (Listen very loudly: it is a dynamic recording!)

@DaveMatthews: There is something unusual in the 6th second. How come the pickup switch makes a sound when it is an electric guitar? :)

I've been trying a few video editors recently and hadn't heard of this one, I'll give VSDC a download. 👍

DaVinci Resolve is the one I've settled on so far, and it's an excellent professional-level video editor and colour-grader. The free version is packed with features and it's just £300 to buy (no subscription!), but it offers so much for free that you'll probably never need to buy. It has been used for Hollywood movies like (googling! :D) Alien: Covenant, Avatar, Best of Enemies, Deadpool 2, Jason Bourne, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, La La Land, Love & Mercy, the Pirates of the Caribbean series, Prometheus, Robin Hood, Spectre, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and X-Men ...

I would highly recommend checking it out. :)

Ive downloaded trial versions of most of them and my laptop just falls over, moviemaker is ludicrously light, it boots from click to ready in two seconds and edits low res proxy, so its really quick on an older computer.
Of course, 'this is the last version'.. microshyte are now dropping 10 for 11 and theres zero chance of me upgrading to that weapons grade spyware.
I will carry on using 10, undoubtedly support will be extended because no one is upgrading.
I keep clone drives of 10 and I'll probably join the incoming linux rush, its all a bit klanky, but I only use a computer for the net and mouse/keyboard.
Funnily enough, the best and cheapest video editor I use is on my phone, I paid 7.99 for it and it is very powerful, I might end up with a large android tablet conected to a mouse.

@Admin: I want let you know the Forum Search database has been lost. A search only works on posts created since the upgrade. This way, the most useful Forum feature has been killed.
Can't you guys just restore the Forum to the state before the upgrade with original databases?

We have rebuilt the search index and searching the entire forum is working again. Please let us know if this is what you see on your end as well. Thanks.

Great thanks! Now, the Forum is fully operable! I think the speed has improved, too!
