US Military base post exchange stores sell a small selection of ebikes and scooters, and rider gear including tools, eyewear, and clothing. Exchange access is available to individuals with base access & permission to use the Exchange including active duty, veterans, or DoD Civilian employees. While there is not an DoD appropriated fund to provide an Ebike purchase incentive, the Advantages of buying from the Exchange include Tax-free, free shipping, and Military Star card Pay Your Way terms.
The selection of ebikes at Army AAFES Exchanges is small, and much smaller at other services Exchange stores. This includes ebikes from budget brands from typical big box store suppliers such as Pacific Cycle (Schwinn), Kent International, and United Wheels (Huffy), and from micro-mobility brands (JackRabbit, Glarewheel, etc), but also include nominally US brands which have signed up as Exchange Plus Partners but are from white label Chinese manufacturers such as Zhejiang/Tao Motor rebranded variously as GoTrax, GoPower, GoLabs, etc. Some models tout UL 2849 or UL 2271 certification, although its difficult to tell which ones because the rebranding/relabelling usually means they have changed the model numbers from those listed on the UL certificates, including a few 750w/500w models. Ebike reviews on the Exchange site are not very helpful, so if you want to read real world examples of how a brand handles after sales customer service issues I recommend you read the complaints records on the Better Business Bureau website entry for the company, for example GoTrax.
US Military/Govt affiliates also are eligible for limited discounts from some direct to consumer ebike brands through discount code sites including ID.me (RadPower, Electric Bike Company, Super 73, SixThreeZero, VAAST, Buzz) and GOVX.com (Magnum, Super 73, Rambo, Hurley, Bakcou).
