Nailing down the final plans for this October! Just have to choose between:

And

Andiamo in Italia!

Hey Patricia, take a look at this; it will get you all fired up for your trip. This was the first of I think five or six videos that Leonard Lee did last year on his trip to tour Tuscany, which was also the first time heā€™d ever been on an ebike. Story is fun, and the scenery is gorgeous, of course.

It went over so well that the company is now doing week long trips with him as a feature, come and ride with Leonard in Italy!

I donā€™t know any of these people or have any attachment at all to it, but I am certainly a Leonard Lee fan for several years now.

I could NEVER hold a camera while I'm riding!

That's what a GoPro on your helmet is for.
Yes, but there were several scenes clearly showing just one hand in the handlebars, and his selfie scenes while riding were clearly one-hand in camera, one hand on bike šŸ¤Ŗ. He was booking right along while doing this, too!

Iā€™ve been looking at tours in the U.S. for some time, and havenā€™t found anything that I think my wife would enjoy, as sheā€™s a very casual rider, and many of them are beyond my capabilities as well. https://italybiketours.com/event/lets-go-lombardia-e-bike-explorerā€¦.looks like something weā€™d be interested in. Weā€™ve been to Italy, but never spent any time in the countryside or small towns (aside from zipping by on a train). A bike tour in Italy would be awesome!

We lived in Naples (Italy, not Florida - thanks, John Prine šŸ˜‰) for 3 years and, before COVID, traveled to Italy once or twice per year for Italian school and touring. I'm excited to be going back!

Didn't want to do Tuscany in October - grapes and olive harvests mean more traffic (big farm equipment) on those winding little roads šŸ˜².

Living there must have been a great experience. Iā€™m from the South Sound (or is that the South Salish Sea?), and have never lived farther away than Utah as a child, or Southwest Washington as an adult. No regrets though, as it was my choice. I was even offered a job in Amsterdam once, and turned it down. My roots are deep.

Tuscany, one of our favorite places.
Not mentioning Rome (I never really liked the city: too hot and too many people), I liked some other regions in addition to Tuscany (which is an unusual place indeed!) It was Upper Adige (specifically Bolzano/Bozen and Merano/Meran as my far Italian family lived there). The other was the Province of Vercelli, deep in Alps in Piedmont. Italy is so beautiful and diversified!

Bolzano and the Alpi di Siuzzi (sp?) Are just stunning! Hiking around Castelrotto is incredible!

Settled on the Salento Bici guided tour in Puglia! looking forward to a FABulous ride... And fabulous food... And fabulous wine... It's going to be awesomešŸ˜! October 15-22, if anyone's interested in joining šŸ˜‰.

That looks like a nice tour! Doesn't look like your days will be too packed with activities, because that can be a problem with tours - everybody wants to get their money's worth, but they end up with no time to simply chill out and explore on their own.

We are going to SW France and NW Spain this fall. We've rented a chĆ¢teau lodge for ten days in the AriĆØge through Airbnb, and the owner has sent me a phone number of a place in the next town which rents ebikes. No idea yet of prices or types, but a review did mention Giants, so I figure they must be middrives. No website, so I have to draft an inquiry email in French...

If it's air bnb, they probably understand EnglishšŸ˜.

One of the things I'm looking forward to is practicing Italian! I even thought about doing the "Learn Italian" tour, but didn't think my friend would be into that...

The Airbnb guy does know English quite well, but the bike shop guy, maybe, maybe not. They don't even have a website, so they may not be fully integrated into the EU concept yet šŸ˜‰.
