Ebike Riders - We Need Your Help ($ for your feedback)!

Hi All,

Clarity Research is conducting a survey among current Ebike owners. Ultimately, the goal of the study is to provide better understanding of the usage of different types of Ebikes and how peoples thoughts/desires change after having ridden for a while. The information will be used in developing future products that are better suited to the needs of riders like yourselves.

The survey is only open for a short period of time and those who QUALIFY AND COMPLETE the ~10 minute survey will receive a $25 Amazon gift code.
If you are interested in participating, please email [email protected] with "E-Bike Research Study" in the subject line and we will get you a link to the survey ASAP.
In effort to avoid bogus responses, it is helpful if you include the make/model of your bike and the State in which you reside. The survey is currently open to US residents and will soon be open to residents of United Kingdom, Germany, and France.

There are only a few qualification criteria in the beginning of the survey and at this time we can only accept owners of production bikes (no DIY builds or conversions).

We are interested in your opinions and experiences for this one study only. We are not selling or marketing anything and your information will never be sold or shared for any purpose.

Admin - I'm hoping that this post is okay. Please advise if there is a better approach.

If there are any questions regarding the legitimacy of this study, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly via PM or comment.

Thanks in advance for your help!

What organization has contracted you do do this research?
Hi Tom,

I am not at liberty to divulge the organization at this time (we don't want to influence the results), but it is a well respected name that nearly everyone here would recognize.

Thanks!

Here is some info,

Has Court cleared this research?

So it is an bike Manufacturer?

We reached out to EBR admin prior to posting. The post was removed but has since been relisted so hopefully all is okay with the powers that be.
I'm an Ebike enthusiast myself so the integrity of this and all of our projects is important to me personally. Happy to answer any questions you have.

Side note - that Rocketreach information is quite outdated. I don't want people to be alarmed if they find conflicting info. Clarity Research moved to Cedar Park, TX in 2020. All information on our website (www.clarityresearch.com.) is up to date

Thanks to all who have reached out so far!

Not sure of the legitimacy of the survey. I got message that I'm not qualified or quota has been reached after it asking my profession and the vehicles I own. I think it's intentionally constraining its participant pool or it's collecting personal info.

Hi onlineaddy,

Apologies you were disqualified. There are a few qualification constraints with regards to what industry you may work in or whether or not you own a motorcycle.
I can assure you that Clarity Research is not collecting your contact information for any other reason than to deliver the Amazon gift codes.

Sincere thanks for trying to take the survey!

Same thing happen to me, and I am retired, and have a MC that has not been ridden in yrs.. I also ask them to delete my email address from their account and have received no information back from them, that they have done so.

Why didn't you post the qualifications constraints, before you ask for taking the survey? You would have save us the time/trouble of jumping thru your hoops.

Have you deleted my email address?
Thank you,

Thank you,

Confirmed. Your email has been removed from our system.

I understand your frustration. The reason we cannot post all qualifications on a public forum is to avoid people "cheating" the system to just get the incentive which happens a lot more than you'd think.

It seems that there is a lot of skepticism surrounding the survey. I can tell you that we have had forum members complete the survey and they have already received their incentive. I hope that some of them will chime in to confirm that this is indeed a legitimate endeavor.

I think it is a legitimate survey, possibly connected to the automotive, or motorcycle industry. Jon Emmett, principal owner of Clarity Research has a long relationship with the automotive and powersports industry. Jon was a Senior Survey Specialist at the University of Michigan, from 2000-2002. Jon and Clarity have a significant footprint on the web and have been around for years.

Hi guys! I just tried taking the survey and was disqualified because I work in the bicycle industry :p from what I can tell, @TCLaird presented the request respectfully and as transparently as possible. I'm not associated with him or his company at all, but I see the value of market research, and believe in open communication. I try not to commercialize the EBR Forums too much, but this is a gathering spot for consumers and builders (designers, manufacturers, marketers etc.) so I hope it doesn't ruffle feathers too much to see a business posting from time to time. I'm always open to feedback, and doing my best here to keep this space moderated, but this posting seemed alright to me! Good luck to anyone who actually can complete the survey and get some Amazon bucks to spend on a light, helmet, or my personal favorite... water bottle 😍 EBR doesn't endorse this person or their link, proceed at your own risk etc. etc.

I took the survey and it seemed pretty simple. The questions appeared to me to be in the spirit of “what would it take to get you to upgrade from an ebike to an electric motorcycle.” For me it’s really cost plus safety (I love using bike paths apart from traffic). I’ll let my wife use the gift card since I’ve got all the gear I need.
