Ebike assistance. Throttle and walk assist works but motor won't turn or run with the throttle

I was wondering if you can help me with my ebike. It's a snugger from ridel. I recently had a crash with it, I manage to change the motor and bypassed the PAS(I pretty much have it disconnected) because of the Error 30. I mange to get rid of the Error 30 but now the motor won't go with the throttle. I know the throttle works because I used it on a different bike and it works fine. The walk assist works perfectly but now my issue is the motor won't run when I press the throttle. I'm pretty sure the electrical side of the bike is perfect and works. Would it a mechanical issue or something? Any ideas would help me out so much

When you changed the motor did you change it with exactly the same motor? Removing and re-lacing the spokes is an impressive job.
Try reinstalling the PAS. This bike is marketed as a Class 2 with pedal assist. The controller may require PAS for the bike to function. This bike will often crash. The battery is high and the backend is overloaded combined with small wheels. It is inherently unstable.

the motor is the same and every time I reinstall the PAS it gives me an "Error 30" so I think I should be okay without the PAS. The breaks are working properly also.

PedalUma, no spokes on that motor, and I don't know why it would be unstable. Probably a 6 pound battery.

Walk mode says the motor wiring is good. We'll have to trust you when you say the Error 30 is PAS. The Ridel pics show an SW900 controller, and all the SW900 manuals I see don't have an Error 30.

Was the throttle tested on the same kind of bike? I assume the answer is yes, because the picture seems to show two of the same. And you can jack that motor into the bike behind it and it should work,

Walk mode shouldn't work if the brake switches are on, but if you disconnected the brake cables to pull the wheel, the rear lever may be slack and the brake switch engaged, which would inhibit the throttle. I have one bike with a julet connector. It look like this. The bottom goes to the controller. It's different for a Bafang system. They switch the genders. You can test for voltages. Compare it to the good bike,

the controller works fine and from what I can see the wire harness does not look damage. I tired it with and without the brake and I am still having the same problem.

I had the same issue when working with my connections. The walk mode worked fine but NO throttle.
I found out there is a common" trap" with some displays...if you accidentally bumped the PAS to 0 the results are what you are experiencing. If that's not the issue and you can't connect the PAS w/out the error, you may need to change the controller paramiters so it dosn't think you have PAS... just a guess but it's worth a try.
Good luck
Keep us informed.

How would I go about changing the parameters of the controller. Cause I do have the display set to just only use the throttle and not the PAS

Pinout.jpg It could be something like this photo of a broken pin, if you look closely. Sorry about the spokes I did not see the photo of the new wheel at that point.

Like Harry said it would be in your manual....but you just stated you have the display set to no PAS...try setting it to PAS 1. (That is the trap I spoke of)

Yes I changed all of that already and still nothing. I played with the display changing the PAS setting to everything to see if it would help out and still got nothing sadly enough

so at this point I have no idea if it is a mechanical issue cause from the electrical side everything seems to be working. I feel like there something somewhere that is prevent the motor from running fulling. It's just weird that Walk assist works perfectly even when I hold on to either brakes it stops the walk assist and when I let either one go the walk assist works. The throttle and controller aren't a issue neither because they work just fine. Display works and I changed the controller setting on the display to just function with just the throttle and even messed with every PAS setting and tried to see if it works and still nothing.

There are certain settings in the parameters that can disable the throttle. If the crash somehow messed with those parameters you could try resetting the parameters, (see your manual for the proper parameter used to reset to default settings). You might want to copy your present settings down so you can easily go back to any changes you made to your settings.

Other wise I would consider replacing the PAS system to start with (if you have one on the other bike just switch them out.

Did you ever find out what error 30 means?
Can you post a pic of your display with the walk mode operating?

Guys!!! I Got it working!!!! For some reason it doesn't run when the display setting is set on Zero but the other numbers are working and the throttle is working and is giving it power now. So I think its a display setting error I'm going to look over the manual for the SW900 and see what I get. I'll keep you guys posted

Okay , great...but that is what I was trying to tell you . You can't have the display PAS set to 0, it turns off the throttle as well as the pedal assist. It's not a display error, but it has trapped many a user.

An engineering mistake, as far as I'm concerned, since you can turn the throttle off by turning off the display, or the battery, do we really need a third, "disguised" way to turn it off???

P.S. your chain needs some serious attention !

Ahh I finally see what you mean, I'm sorry I misunderstood!! But yes you were right! Thank you so much!

So, like I said before I had it on Zero and that is where it wasn't working. Once I changed the modes it worked perfectly fine. Once again thank you and sorry for the misunderstanding!

No problem !
A pic of your display in walk mode, would have cut right through the confusion.
