E-Tube project for Shimano STEPS

Has anyone done a firmware upgrade to their STEPS motor lately?
About to do it and wondering how it went. Would hate to brick my bike!

Just did the update, took a long time, but straight forward no issues, just followed the prompts.

I feel your pain... but when was the last update? It was a while ago, right?

I updated my E5000 immediately after I got it about 11 months ago. Scared the hell out of me, but my bike is so underpowered it was a necessity. It's still only 40nm of torque, but now NORM gets there much more easily.

There's no way to check battery health with E-Tube, right, unless you have a special adaptor?

I'd really like to know, because there are some rides at the edge of my range that I hope to try this spring before it gets too hot! Also, I want to make sure the percentage is within warranty.

I don't know about the battery health. I really haven't played around in the App a whole lot. I just customized some assist levels and ran the update. That's about all I poked around in there.

I don't blame you. The app scares the crap out of me-- I don't wanna wind up with a 46-pound, $2,500 paperweight!
