Well folks it's been a blast riding the converted E-Motobecane this year. The days are cooling off quickly in NH and the few days I've ridden to work with the air temp in the low 30's have been cold (even prepared and bundled up). The bike has gone about 1700 miles between daily commutes and weekend jaunts. The Bafang kit has performed flawlessly and the motor is still as quiet today as it was the 1st ride...absolutely fantastic. The 15AH Chinese LiFeP04 battery I took a chance on has been a great performer. I can still ride the bike the 28 mile round trip work commute and have all bars remaining. Yes, while riding I drop one and near the end of the ride if I'm pushing the bike hard uphill it might drop two, but the indicator still returns to full when I get home.
Looking for a winter project and will probably build another bike, just don't know what yet. Between the Neo Carbon the E-Motobecane and the MT1000 I've ridden almost 3,000 miles this spring/summer/fall. Haven't had any serious problems with the electric components...a few flats and broken spokes...truing the wheels as the spokes lose tension, pretty standard fare. I'm a bit surprised the wheels and spokes held up as well as they did. Punishing physics with the motors/torque and speed riding over some pretty ugly roads.
I did learn that battery capacity does matter and the only disappointment is the Neo battery, I wish I had the larger 12AH.....love the ride, but not so crazy about the battery. Learning.....
