E bikes with a full range of gears

Long answer: I can get a 2017 Surface 604 ROOK for $2200 in March. That's a great price for a great bike, but until my local bike shop opens, since they're small and without a web site, I don't know what I can get locally. I'm gathering priorities and knowledge in the meantime, so I'll know what I'm looking at when the time comes.

The company gets good reviews. The Rook isn't 100% what I want, but I don't want to spend a ton of money, yet.

I picked up an Evo Street model on sale for under $2k US. I had it shipped to a UPS store close to the border, drove down, picked it up and paid the HST when I brought it back to Canada. It cost $100 to have a lbs assemble it; all-in price, around $3k Canadian......now if the snow would only melt.

With tax, that's the cost of the latest BionX, except you got a whole bike instead of just a wheel. It's a really nice bike, too.

I must correct myself, it's the Evo City Wave, still a nice bike and DW can't wait to try it out. I bought myself an Xduro Trekking last year and love it. We're heading down to New England in June for a cycling holiday, I haven't done that in 30 years.

Did you get the 350 W/36 V or the 500 W/48 V?

500, 48 volt, DW likes the throttle, so our ranges should be similar.
