E-bike running with plugged, doesn’t when unplugged

I have a 2019 daymak vienna. Someone tried to steal it and, determined to do it myself, changed the ignition barrel and all the other locks. When all back together, it doesn’t want to restart. When I plug it to the wall, I am able to start it and all functions well. The chargers keeps a green light though instead of turning red when plugged.
I thought it needed new batteries, so I tested the voltage of the 7 packs of 12V batteries, which all came decent. Any idea what it could be? Thank y’all.

Is the Battery Management System part of/in the battery or external?

You say ignition barrel. Is there a main key to start the ebike on the handlebars or are you referring to the barrel on the battery?

Thieves are the worst.

Bicycles have pedals. Clearly there is an issue with the wiring of the keyed On switch.

If your charger’s LED status light does not change from red to green over an extended period of time, for perhaps more than 14 hours, and the battery is very hot, the battery or charger may need replacing. Stop charging and bring both to your Daymak dealer immediately. Do not charge the battery.

No it is external.

the ignition barrel for the key was replaced on the handlebar. it also turns the bike on.

it only shows green, even when plugged. It should be turning red when it is changing but it isnt.

He's got lead acid batteries. No BMS on those. Maybe a circuit that cuts off the bike at 70 volts. Seems to me the wiring is wrong if the bike won't light up unless he plugs in the charger.

I’ll give the wiring a look over again and let you know. Changing the fuse just in case too. Thanks guys !

Update: got brand new batteries and still nothing. Only turns on when plugged. And has a faint light when unplugged. Any idea guys?

I can only picture in my mind how this would be wired. Did you also replace the ignition switch? If yes, is it an exact replacement?

It seems like the charger wire is connected where the battery should be and the battery is connected where the charger should.

If this is what you have, not a lot to do wrong.

I got the replacement from their official distributor. They seem like the exact ones.
That is the only wires that got changed.
Is it possible theirs some pairing “code” or “pattern” to link the starter to new ignition?
