E-Bike Newbies - Between Seattle and Mt. Rainier

My wife and I had been researching E bikes for a few months and did several test rides and found a great deal on his and her Trek Verve +. Still breaking them in but what a blast and a complete new chapter with many adventures ahead. We are in our 50s and did some mountain biking 25 years ago when we got married but various health issues had grounded us so this opens up a whole new world for us as we love the outdoors and exploring. Love reading about everybody’s bikes and experiences .

Welcome to the forum! And welcome to the world of e-biking!

Glad to hear that you're enjoying your bikes. What kind of distances are you doing and how far can you go on a charge?

When the battery is fully charged and I start out in Eco, the first level of assist it says I can go 60 miles. That is actually conservative because I went almost 70 miles on a full charge but mostly flat terrain on the trail in our valley, using only PAS 1 and at times no assist at all. When I stay up on the hill and do mixed riding where there are plenty of fairly decent slopes I am averaging around 40 miles per charge. Rarely have I had to use the turbo mode even on fairly steep inclines. This bike feels so stable and the brakes are excellent . The biggest surprise is how quiet the motor is and how well this bike coasts.
