I just purchased an Electra Bali Cruiser which is equipped with Spanninga Kendo+ xe front and back lights.....problem is I cant figure out how to turn them on! They briefly illuminate when power is turned on, but have only come on automatically, once after dark. Bike salesmen assumed they are light sensitive. Help!!

Yes....cannot find any operating info...only how to install. What looks like an on/off button, does nothing.

@tomjasz 's video pretty much sums it up. This is a dynamo powered light which means the front dyno hub has to be spinning a certain mph to make enough juice to power the front and rear lights. Here is the XE instructions and as you can see, they are pretty much worthless: https://spanninga.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/KENDO-XE-instruction-manual.pdf

Looking at Tom's video, if the on-off switch is depressed on then both lights should light up when the front wheel spins. If not, then the switch is off OR there is a faulty connection from the dyno hub to the lights.

The video does not make mention of a built-in light sensor on this particular light. It is possible in the Off switch position that the sensor will turn the lights on when you are biking in low light conditions.

Honestly, your dealer should have a complete handle on the workings of this light and should be able to assist you better than they have!

With the right verbiage, there's lots of information found by Googling. I think Mike nailed it.

This fri=om the first couple of search links...

The rep told me that the dealer, using their diagnostic tool, can access the firmware and change the lights control to selectable on/off from constantly on.
She said that the manufacturer of the Purion had likely set the controller to lights constantly on.
I'll follow up with what the selling dealer service dep't has to say.

Thank you for the great info...however...the top of the light that is depressed in the video feels solid on my light. In other words, it does not depress at all and spinning the wheel as demonstrated does not cause light to come on. I am going to take back to dealer to see if they can figure out what is wrong! I appreciate your input!!!! Ill keep you posted!
