Dual batteries :-)

Had my second battery delivered earlier in the week. Thanks David at Hilleater.
So now I have a CCS with:
48v 19ah
52v 21ah

Just need to work out a way to secure the 48v battery to the top of the rack and then I’m off on a few very very long rides. Can’t wait!

How does a 48v batt and a 52v batt work on 1 single bike? What was the bike designed to use voltage wise?

Peak voltage on a 48 is usually around 58 and when the battery voltage gets close to 48 that battery needs a charge. I am guessing the 52 has a peak of 62 so you could charge that one to 80% (extending its life cycle ability) and have a battery working within the voltages normally delivered by the 48. Or something like that....

Maybe a Canvas Battery Bag

The CCS can use both 48 and 52v batteries. I’m not hooking them both up at once, will just swap them over mid ride.

Thanks for the bag suggestion

Always the nerd here. :) A 13S 48V battery comes in at 54.6V. Add another 4.2V to make that 58.8V for a 14S 52V battery.

I use those battery bags. If the one in the picture is like mine, it's only 11" long and barely fits a Dolphin pack turned at an angle. So keep an eye on the dimensions before you buy. I've seen some that advertise 33cm, which is 13 inches.

Thanks. I’ve found a longer version that should fit the battery.
