Domane+ ALR

Just cruising around on the Trek website (looking for a step thru that I can convince my wife she will enjoy) and saw there is now a Domane+ ALR with an MSRP of $4,600. I don't recall seeing that option previously and wondered if anyone has seen one "out in the wild?" Seems like a good idea to do road frame geometry w/ drop handlebars but avoiding the expense and warranty / repair hassle of OCLV. Didn't note the weight but have never considered that a huge issue with the assist. Seems to have the Fazua Evation assist.

I saw that too. Probably trying to compete with Specialized at a lower price point for aluminum.

Fazua is now producing Class 3 motors (Pivot has one) - any chance of Trek moving to that? Also, are they using the new 250X battery that does not require the unit to be removed to power up?

Looked at the 2021 Domane+ ALR at the bike shop the other day. You do not have to take out the battery to turn it on. Would have to take it out to
charge the battery.

I would consider the Specialized Aluminum framed Creo. The Fazua battery having to be at least unhinged from the frame to charge I believe has caused some issues with the lock system.
