Does The Air Smell Better With Fewer Smog Machines On The Road?

Same. It's more dependent on the weather. I still drive my gas hog, it passes everything but a gas station. 😇

Same. In fact, the local Walmart parking lot had a lot of Canadian motorhomes in it. I suspect they are stocking up on stuff before heading back home. It's the last chance for that. I made a home depot run today.

Cannabis sales are up 56%. 😁

Now they're saying home brewing of beer is 'Home Brew In Place'. LOL
I have ten gallons nearly ready, an english pale ale and a blond ale. Yum. 🍻
4 taps in the living room, we have our own beer parlor. "Browneye Brewing Co."
Ride. Drink beer. Lather, rinse, repeat. LOL

Our air is really clear when it rains, and when the wind blows all the pollution out over the ocean. It gets super clear then. LOL

Agreed, the weed smell from cars is overpowering. The stuff we had in the 60's didn't smell like that. They've over engineered the stuff and it's frankenweed now. Not cool to be driving like that. You just want to take the edge off things a little (I guess, I stopped many, many years ago), not turn into a zombie, especially if I'm riding my bike around you. Dark tinted windows, reefer smoking, texting while driving, man it's dangerous out there.

Yes, I catch it all the time on my bike commutes ... on the way to work early in the pre-dawn hours dominant smell is that of skunk. On the way home, the dominant smell is weed coming from open car windows. To be truthful, I think I prefer the smell of skunk.

Not really. The hardheads are crusing around in beaters running with 3 or 2 cylinders missing, likely because of sparkplug/coilpak problem. Stinko. And two new gas assisted bicycles have appeared. 2 cycle, major stink machines.
VET (vehicle emmisions testing) was a major P***, causing me no end of trouble on a car that ran pretty well and didn't stink. State got rid of VET when we had a couple of wet years with low ozone. They should enforce some reasonable standard, there was probably a 100000x difference between the hydrocarbons my 4 year old chevette was putting out and these 4 out of 6 cylinder trashmobiles.

It does here, I've noticed it on my walks:) How is it where you live and breath?
Maybe a smidge better here in downtown Toronto, but not much. I think most of our pollution blew in from Detroit, across the Great Lakes (or more accurately the strip of land between Lake Huron and Lake Erie via prevailing winds). There was at least one coal-fired plant in south west Ontario along the same path.

Our air quality here has been pretty good for a while, unless you're close to a highway.

Our last coal-fired plant closed about 7-8 years ago, and Detroit hasn't been "old-school" Detroit in more than a decade.

I've been a lifelong resident of Toronto, and the last time we've had any kind of major smog alert has to go back a decade or more. I only recall one minor warning in the past 3 years or so.
