Local dealer sells iGO which was pretty nice to ride. 2550 can tax in. Really heard good things about Radpower but have not ridden it. It is 2100 tax in. Any suggestions. Recommendations? New to this. Thank You.

How good are you at electrical troubleshooting and bike repair? You buy direct and it's on you when something doesn't work.
Well, Rad bikes come with a 1 year warranty and great technical support, so it's not totally on you. My RadRover is just out of warranty and I didn't need much support from RPB, but they were very helpful on a couple of issues. I've heard they may pay for warranty repairs at an LBS if you can't do it yourself (but I don't know that for sure -- I never found it anywhere near necessary to take my bike to anyone for adjustments, etc.) But, you are right, you don't have local dealer support, unless you're in Seattle. You also pay less for the bike....

Anyway, I don't have any experience with IGO, or anything other than Rad, but I'd buy another bike from Rad with total confidence, and am considering it.

I think a lot of this call will be the answer to Rich's question. If your plan is to have the dealer do all the required work for whatever reason, you might check around to see if somebody local is williing to handle that for you. Bike dealers can be pretty snooty regarding work on an e-bike they didn't sell - even if you are willing to pay them.

I'm not ready to buy a 2nd bike yet,but when I am I have already been thinking about this very subject.I have been supporting my local ebike shop for a year now and I really value his experiance and know how on everything ebike.I'm always looking at ebikes but the first thing I do is see if he sells that brand.I would buy from him before I would choose a direct purchase.Lucky for me he is only 20 miles away.If I was way farther away from an ebike shop then I would not hesitate to buy direct. Also I rented a Rad Cargo bike last year in Petosky Mi for a whole day and I loved it.I put 28 miles on it with my wife riding on it with me.When we returned the owner let me switch the battery over to a Rad Rover and I rode another 10 miles with out charging up the batt.It gets better, still having juice left,I put the battery back on the original cargo bike and rode solo another 10 miles.48 miles on that charge and there was still more charge left I just ran out of time.I say get to know your LBS,if you like them and can do bussiness with them thats a huge plus and can save you tons of time and money down the road.

Tons of frustration too! (for those that are not able and willing to do their own work)
