Dead as a doornail with fully charged battery

I would be inclined to do a load test on your battery. Sometimes you can have a proper voltage on the battery but the battery is unable to deliver meaningful current. Generally that would be a battery's bms issue.

What does dead as a doornail mean?

Are doornails especially dead?
Where the Phrase Comes From
The expression is very old and dates back to at least the 1300s, appearing in medieval texts like Piers Plowman. Later, it was famously used by William Shakespeare in Henry IV, Part 2 and Charles Dickens in A Christmas Carol (1843). [1, 2, 3, 4]

The origin relates to old carpentry practices: [1]
    • In medieval times, handcrafted metal nails were rare and valuable commodities that people routinely salvaged from old or burned buildings to reuse.
    • However, when workers hammered a stout "doornail" through a thick medieval door, the sharp end poking out the other side was bent over and hammered flat (a process called "clinching" or "dead nailing") to lock it firmly in place.
    • Because bending the metal made the nail impossible to pull out or straighten without ruining it, the nail's active life was finished—rendering it permanently "dead". [1, 2, 3]

Installed new controller correctly and still the bike will not power on so I requested the wire harness from display to controller.
That's actually a common problem as well... Sorry I didn't suggest it as I would have rung it out and confirmed continuity at least for the display portion of the cable.
I sometimes assume people have more experience with troubleshooting... I'm slippin' 🙃

If you're unsure of how to get your multimeter connected to these micro connectors.... This is what I've done.

For the receiving female... A single conductor of a solid Cat5 cable works very well.

If you don't have Cat5...

Pealing a few strands off of some 18ga stranded wire will also work

For the male pins using the same 18ga wire..

First use a thin awl, pick or even small finish nail to create a small void in the end of the wire.

Then slide it on the pin.

In all cases wiggle them on gently to avoid damaging the connector and avoid bending these micro leads over.
