Creo - squeak from drive

hi all
please listen to the attached. I've downsized the video to make it small so ignore the picture aspect ratio, the sounds is what matters. I've taken off all of the drive side, I'm just moving the non-drive crank back and forth.
there's the usual clunk as the drive engages / disengages, thats fine . what is not fine is the squeak / whistle when going in the other direction. sounds like something wearing, some metal-on-metal. This noise has been there in the last 2 hrs riding , bike has done about 600 miles in 3 months from new. Its definitely coming from internal, happens when the cranked axle is rotating backwards and the drive ring is stationary. when riding it happens at any point when you just "ease off" - drive-ring going faster than crank for a short time.

anyone had this? can't see anything to grease.

Just sounds like the stiction on the seal when you start. If you keep "back pedaling" does it continue or is it just when you start?

just tested again, with the chainring and chain on so that holds the ring completely still, back pedalling, the noise is continuous.

Just for clarification, does this involve a brand new Creo or was it purchased used in new condition? Regardless, I recommend taking it to a Spec dealer and have them check it out. It could be something simple and straightforward but motor squeals/noises are hard to diagnose unless you are willing to venture deeper down the rabbit hole as there are a lot of moving parts involved. Check out this thread.

purchased brand new from dealer in June, done about 600 miles. Thank you for the link to the thread . I watched your video - the noise from my bike is exactly the same as yours when back-pedaling. nothing when going forward yet (or if there is I can't hear it over rest of the mechanical noises). Sounds like I need to talk to the supplying dealer tomorrow.

In my case, Specialized likely felt that swapping out was the preferred method seeing that it was much quicker and more convenient for the customer rather than having the dealer tear it apart in an attempt to formalize a diagnosis.
