Update: Yesterday my Ortho said I could stop using crutches and prescribed PT. I had hoped my Balance cyclist injury insurance would cover some of the cost but I learned they have a clause requiring PT to begin within 60 days of the date of the accident and my first appointment will be 11 days over. Given the uncomplicated nature of my injury I did not require surgery for internal fixation which would have pushed a PT start date back further. It seems Balance cyclist injury insurance is only useful for relatively minor injuries, my experience has been you can't rely on it to help with a broken leg.

Glad to hear the improvement, even if the insurance news isn't so helpful... but it often seems insurance only exists to benefit the insurer!
