I’m in the import business. I can tell you that even stuff that’s made in USA will contain many components made overseas. if not, the materials to make the components will come from China.
China is a well oiled machine. They are incredibly efficient and their infrastructure is staggering.

What part of this is Made in China?

Two decades ago the wheels were Asian. They may still be. 86% American made Corvette parts by some reports. Remember covid created shortages making makers scramble for global parts streams.

GM gets parts from all over the world. Anyone thinking a GM car has only US made components is dreaming. GM has plants in Mexico as well. Really difficult to know where individual parts actually were made for even if a replacement OEM part was ordered from the dealer, GM will have packaged it with GM packaging. I’d be surprised if we could find an individual widget part that says made in China other than maybe electronic control boxes and components.

Jeebus. That was true for the corvette in the past. I’m not defending them. It’s not my cuppa. However there are published ratings assigning standings for vehicles with the highest percentage of American parts. It seems this rocket is typically 2nd or 5th.

Personally I’ve never owned an an American car. Made in America finally, but all Toyota. 7 models over 45 years. Oh and VW air-cooled before those and in later years. Oops almost forgot the Saab 95 V4 German Ford 1/2 289.

I’m a global thinking guy. After all aren’t all of us on EBR placing our arses on China’s economy?
