Confused on What to Order

When I go to purchase the 750W kit without battery I have an option for low volt cut. What is the difference?

I want to purchase it without the battery because I want a dolphin case. Cost is no issue I want the best battery. Which one is the best to go with the 750W?

It seems to my dense brain this site is a little harder to use.

Thanks

The ebike kit vendors are offering 48v and 52v versions of battery packs. Generally, this is 13s (13 in series) or 14s (14 in series). So if you buy a '48 volt' battery, get the lower LVC. Paul is very honest about his batteries and uses realistic voltages.

From a brief scan, if you want to buy the Dolphin from Paul it will be a 48v battery (which he calls a 47v) but it's a 13 series pack and that is, apparently, what fits in those cases. From there 'best' is either extra capacity, or the ability to deliver max amps. Delivering max amps is not ideal with the BBS02, which is why there is an BBSHD, now.

If you are going to buy a pack from another vendor, a 52volt pack, you would want to pick the higher LVC value.

If you run max power, or 25 amps, the extra 4 volts is another 100 watts. For most riders, it wouldn't matter.

George is right.
Take a look at the triangle pack. 50V, 24.8Ah would give the best range. Also, the price is much better compared to 32E cells.

This is why I feel comfortable getting into the e-bike world. Thanks for the always informational posts George S. and Ravi Kempaiah.

My initial confusion came from seeing different battery options with kit w/ battery then I saw under just batteries in cases (Dolphin). Then as previously explained seeing 47V not 48V and the LVC.

I really was impressed with Lectric cycles video but looking at EM3ev I can get the 750W kit with frame battery 47V 9.8Ah battery and wide/narrow 42 ring for 1000 bucks.

Lectric cycles has the 750W kit with frame pack 48V 9Ah battery with the wide/narrow 42 ring for 1690 dollars.

Lectric Cycles has the shiffter but other then that...what am I missing here?

Thanks again

You might want to put the items in the cart over at EM3ev, and then look at the shipping options. That's usually the issue, the price of shipping, plus some of the lead times. I think you can buy the shift sensor, but it seems like Lectric Cycles tunes the product that (I think) comes out of the Czech Republic.

Lectric Cycle has a decent sale on a package with the 500 watt, right now.

Glad Ravi and I could help.

Hi Doker,
With a `dolphin` case you`ll be limited to what cells the case will hold and of course the aH of the battery, i reckon 12aH will be the most you can fit in there.
If i were doing my BBS02 750w conversion over again i`d spend the extra and go up to 20aH and get it into a triangle bag. The present bottle/dolphin case is ok but you do see the voltage sag when there`s a steep hill.
Depends where you`ll be riding, if it`s generally flat/moderate hills you`ll be ok with the dolphin type case.

ROYL, thanks for the explanation.

George S WOW you are right I had no idea shipping would be so much. May make it closer to go with Lectric cycles.

Thank you everyone for the information

See if Lectric can get you a 48V 14Ah battery. Makes a big difference.
If not, you could always go triangle frame and end up with something like this...

Check out Luna Cycles, they offer very good pricing on motors and dolphin packs, they have very nice Low profile packs in right now that are 52v 13.5 ah... Eric is also very helpful and knowledgable.
