When coasting down hill (power off) the bike seems to be limited in how fast it will go. Does the motor or gear train have a limiter or governor that prevents the bike from coasting freely?

The simple answer is no. How fast do you go downhill coasting? Are you riding into a headwind? I have coasted up to 40 mph coming down mountains. Normal hill should get you over 20mph easy just coasting.

I have turned off the motor (power still on, if there's a difference) and coasted 47mph on my Creo. I think it has the same motor limitations. Today, I hit 23.1mph on an urban downhill. I do not believe it has any inherent braking power. Only that the motor will cut off at certain speeds as stop assisting.
