Believe me or not.. just ordered 1.1 (with front fork) for my wife.. it's superb when comes to comfort - I have as a reference my Tesoro X1 Remixte - very very comfortable - we got 1.1. version as oppose to this one; front fork for bumps dump... makes a difference, trust me. Unfortunately it is currently on 'back order'.. that's a bummer.. probably sometimes next month. People keep complaining about bad gear selection for it, simply to high, and need to pedal (cadency) to fast.. I have tried it and found nothing add about it or different than on my Tesoro.. E bikes likes high cadency , i.e. motors.. especially mid hub where motor gets load from chain.. higher rpm causes less stress for it.

Shimano Altus - most basic ones.. nothing fancy, yet good trade off keeping price reasonably low :). Also 350W motor is fairly low, again - want good price balance ? I like it though.. I believe REI may aim at people who cares more about shape than 'adrenaline'.. I don't know what it is, but typically Class 2 bike riders are 'bigger', with more 'mass' on them (heavier). btw.. some people put really average review for poor gear selection, saying it's only comfortable to maintain 15mph.. while you definitely can get to 20 mph, you can do it only in short bursts.. true!!! but...people, hello!!!?... IT'S NOT COMMUTER BIKE, lol!! it's recreational, for fun.. NOT COMMUTING! for that you buy different, with different set of gear and bigger tires.. lol.. I'm shocked people did not do a minute research, lol.

9/21/22 - yes, we got it, blue! What a fantastic bike!! All those negative reviews complaining about to high cadency because wrong gear ratio are simply pardon me: jerks or people have never been riding e-bikes! (looking for speed/race??? buy motorbike) that have never had any ride on e-bike and don't understand minimum physics or nature of them... Don't get discouraged by those complain.. I owe (since last March) Cannondale Tesoro X Remixte: https://www.cannondale.com/en/bikes/electric/e-touring/tesoro-neo-x/tesoro-neo-x-1-remixte-smu so by now I think i have a good reference point and understanding quite a few reasoning why it is what it is.. IT'S NOT A COMMUTE BIKE or race bike!!! wow..what a misconception!! Highly recommend to make long story short if you look for some quick fun in local metro park or neighborhood! (I exactly knew what I'm getting trying it prior to purchase at REI).
