Choosing a new display

I am going to play the bright boy and display my ignorance of displays. My old display got a bit waterlogged so I need a new one. My first question is how do the displays work with controllers? I know that it needs to be rated for voltage and watt-not, However is the brand and model a factor are the connectors universal and watt other factors do I need to know. For my example I have a Bigstone c600 with 750 watt 48 volts, not sure of the make and model of controller.
Note: I could not find a thread on this subject and have notable not found the answer elsewhere so please point me in the right direction.

display work with controller according same protocol, you need to figur out what protocol that controller use, and order the new display using the same one.
of course, the voltage, wire sequence and connector need to be adaptable. brand is not matte.
If you cannot make sure which controller you use, you can check your series number of display, and contact with the display manufacturer to have their assistance.

A picture of the display might provide a hint as to what it is, and maybe suggestions regarding your options. A picture of the connector where it plugs into the harness wouldn't hurt anything, nor would a picture of the controller, especially if you could get a picture of the controller data plate.

You might also share with us what bike this is for. That may help.

Bigstone list all their displays with specs on their website. I have the C800 that would be compatible or the C600E-30C would be a good choice.

I see Revibikes offers the new 2020 color display for the Civi Cheetah style bikes. I couldn't find a model number but available for $159. on their site.
I plan to upgrade to this model in the future. Has a 5v 1amp USB port as well as voltage readout and other great features.

Thanks... but how do find out the protocols on my own? The manufacturer has not replied yet.
a pic of controller's nameplat will be help. If you can contact with the display or controller manufacturer will be better of course.

Yes seeing the controller is a great idea, I wish I could access it, Its in the downtube of the frame or possibly the battery. Well still working on it thanks for the comments I just need to perform open bike surgery it seems.

Hi sorry for a small delay in getting back to this, Here is the info from the controller label. As the last two digits are scarred I have the ten I read it as in parentheses. I would like to know what I need to look for in a display so that I can choose one next time without asking for help.

product number Lsw1422-8-2m x1807028960

Bigstone Display usually have their own protocol, you can check on their website, contact their service people to find more info. it may need your series number on the back of your display. you can choose their products as replacement.
If they can tell you which protocol they use , you can choose to buy other brand of display as you want, but they usually do not tell customer about this.;)
