Hi
This is my first post and I really enjoy searching your forum.
I live in New Orleans so deal with hot summers (5 months) and the perfect warm fall winter spring Riding season (7 months).
I am A 59 year old guy, fairly active, in good health but a little overweight at 220 lbs.
I am Looking to
get some exercise - a lot of pedaling like a standard bike but some assist
get out more because I wouldn’t be slogging it in hard wind,
Not wanting to sweat profusely on an 8 mile commute to work on a lakefront path
Pleasure riding in New Orleans and some trails
some 20+ mile rides
I am looking at a couple options that I found online in the $3k range with all the upgrades and want to make sure I haven’t left out one to consider.
I would like a bike that is mostly city but also some offroad, light trail etc. I will be moving to Colorado in a few years.
I would like a substantial motor / battery combo, top speed and Class 3.
Reliability - USA made is important.
Mostly peadaling with some assist but the ability to quickly accelerate and fight the elements (grade/wind/tired overdid it ride home).
HIll climb levee path and later steeper extended road grades out west.
No baskets but a simple back rack Platform to strap to would be good
low access - I had both my knees replaceD - have good mobility and no pain but off a little on balance. Step Throughs or low profile city bikes
maybe even put a future young grandchild on the back
I have been reading a lot of reviews and youtube and was looking at the following
Any others you would suggest
Electrick Bike Company R.
Low access - some off road capability
I like that it is nearly all made in the USA - custom to your specifications
seem to have the best service and least issues
Juiced bike hyper scorpion or scorpion
seems more like a moped than a pedaler - but would like your insights
nice rider access, features, very powerful
Rad
Rad Runner Plus
Rad Step Through
I am leaning towards the Electric Bike Company R bike
I appreciate your thoughts, other brands, should I spend a little more?
Thanks
